  • Patent number: 4357243
Abstract: A method for reclaiming an aqueous emulsion useful as a metal-working lubricant/coolant which is contaminated with particles of at least one metal comprises contacting the contaminated emulsion with at least one metal solubilizing agent at metal solubilizing conditions to solubilize at least a portion of the metal particles. The thus contacted emulsions have improved suitability as a metal-working lubricant/coolant relative to the contaminated emulsion.

  • Patent number: 4134959
Abstract: The invention disclosed provides a new composition and method for inhibiting corrosion. The present composition is relatively non-toxic, contains no chromates and zinc, and consists essentially of an azole and a water-soluble phosphate in an effective combination. Effective amounts of the corrosion inhibiting composition are used to provide corrosion protection in both ferrous and non-ferrous metals.

Date of Patent: January 16, 1979
    Assignee: Chemed Corporation
Inventors: Russell O. Menke, Jose T. Jacob, Chih M. Hwa
  • Patent number: 4115139
Abstract: Lignin carboxylic acid is added to raw cement mix slurry prior to wet-grinding, whereby the amount of water required is reduced.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 16, 1978
Date of Patent: September 19, 1978
    Assignee: Chemed Corporation
Inventors: Richard L. Every, Jose T. Jacob
  • Patent number: 4101441
Abstract: The invention disclosed provides a new composition and method for inhibiting corrosion. The present composition is relatively non-toxic, contains no chromates, and consists essentially of an azole, water-soluble phosphate and water-soluble organophosphonic acid. Effective amounts of the corrosion inhibiting composition are used to provide corrosion protection in both ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 4088600
Abstract: Oil-in-water or water-in-oil emulsions can be demulsified with cationic starches of the quaternary ammonium type.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 30, 1976
Date of Patent: May 9, 1978
    Assignee: Chemed Corporation
Inventors: Thomas R. Tutein, Anne E. Harrington, Jose T. Jacob
  • Patent number: 4067690
Abstract: The invention disclosed provides a method for boiler water treatment to retard corrosion due to dissolved oxygen. Hydroxylamine, certain derivatives thereof and their salts have now been found to be highly effective oxygen scavengers for use in boiler water and thereby effect reduction of corrosion resulting from dissolved oxygen.

    Assignee: Chemed Corporation
Inventors: Dionisio G. Cuisia, Chih M. Hwa, Jose T. Jacob, Murrell L. Salutsky
  • Patent number: 4061589
Abstract: The invention disclosed relates to new improved corrosion inhibitors for cooling water systems, preparation thereof and use to inhibit metal corrosion in aqueous systems. The present corrosion inhibitors are 1,3,5-triazine-4,6-diketo 2-dithio ammonium phosphamate and 1,3,5-triazine 4,6-dithio 2-dithio ammonium phosphamate.
    Type: Grant
