  • Publication number: 20060002636
Abstract: Disclosed is an imaging system that stores and retrieves very large scanned digital images, as in applications that automatically scan biological samples using a computer-controlled digital camera microscope. Slide data is entered, zelle data is captured and compressed and a zelle database file is loaded. Furthermore, an image database file is loaded and it is determined whether another zelle is to be stored. The image can be retrieved by accessing the zelle database, reading a zelle record, reading an image file, loading the display buffer, and determining whether another zelle is to be loaded.

  • Publication number: 20050002547
Abstract: A remote view station is communicatively coupled to an image server and receives a compressed version of source medical images. The remote view station uncompresses and displays the received medical image. A medical professional, such as a pathologist, can select a region of the displayed medical image. Region information is transmitted back to the image server that applies image analysis operations on a region of the source medical image that corresponds to the selected region of the compressed medical image. In this manner, the data loss that occurs during image compression does not effect the image analysis operations. As such, the image analysis operations produce more accurate results than if the operations were applied by remote view station to the uncompressed image.

  • Publication number: 20030166964
Abstract: This invention relates to a process for the simultaneous coproduction of ethyl acetate and isopropyl acetate. The esterification reaction comprises contacting acetic acid with a mixed alcohol stream of ethanol and isopropanol. Exemplified is a purified, Fischer Tropsch derived mixture of ethanol and isopropanol. The esterification reaction occurs in the presence of an acidic catalyst in a liquid phase reaction system. The resultant crude reaction step product is separated and purified by distillation to produce acetate ester products having greater than 99.5 wt % purity.
