  • Publication number: 20100274529
Abstract: A method and apparatus for on-line diagnostics and the prediction of the dielectric behavior of power transformers uses a Temperature Loading Curve (TLC) method based on the on-line reading of the relative humidity of the oil in the main tank of the transformer, and on-line reading of at least two temperatures of the oil-cellulose system of the transformer by a suitable computer. Data obtained by sensors are subsequently used to evaluate the average water content in the cellulose materials, the Qp-value, and the dielectric characteristic of the transformer, the TLC. The TLC relation then describes its specific dielectric behavior, the change of the Ud-value of transformer oil with temperature, for the whole range of its operational temperatures.

  • Patent number: 7474186
Abstract: A method and apparatus for quantitative DGA (Diluted Gas Analysis), providing quantitative on-line readings of gas production/consumption that directly corresponds to the extent of faults in a power transformer. This quantitative DGA method uses the oil filling of the main tank of a power transformer as a measuring capacity, enabling a physical and mathematical description of the dynamic behavior of all relevant gases in its main tank and in its conservator. A strong dynamic change of the content of a calibration gas in the oil filling of a main tank of the transformer is deliberately induced for the determination of the oil throughflow between the main tank and the conservator. Subsequently, volumetric flows of all relevant gases in a transformer are calculated from a predetermined oil throughflow, dynamic changes, and measured levels of all relevant gases that are in the main tank and the conservator.

  • Patent number: 7122075
Abstract: The device for reducing the gas and water contamination of transformer oil filling includes a main tank and a conservator provided with a sludge discharge fitting, being joined by an upper connecting pipe having an upper Buchholz relay and a discharge fitting. A lower pipe coupling including a circulating pump joins a top part of the main tank with a top part of an oil cooler while a bottom part of the cooler is joined by a lower pipe coupling with the bottom part of the main tank. The main tank bottom part is provided with a release fitting and also has a connection led out from the release fitting, and is joined with the top part of a stabilizing tank, the bottom part of which is joined by a connection pipe with the sludge discharge fitting and/or with a fitting located in the conservator bottom part.

  • Publication number: 20040216613
Abstract: The device for reducing the gas and water contamination of transformer oil filling consisting of a main tank (1) and a conservator (2), provided with a sludge discharge fitting (230), being joined mutually an upper connecting pipe (12) in which an upper Buchholz relay (120) and a discharge fitting (122) are installed. A top part of said main tank (1) is joined by an upper pipe coupling (111) in which a circulating pump (110) is built in with a top part of an oil cooler (11). A bottom pat of said oil cooler (11) is joined by a lower pipe coupling (112) with the bottom part of said main tank (1) which is provided with a release fitting (311), too. In its bottom part, said main tank (1) is joined by a connection (13), led out from a release fitting (311), with the top part of a stabilizing tank (3) the bottom part of which being joined by a connection pipe (23) with said sludge discharge fitting (230) and/or with a fitting located in the bottom part of said conservator (2).

  • Patent number: 4680091
Abstract: Apparatus for the continuous vacuum cleaning of oil operating on the principle of continuous alteration of a compression, and of a separating cycle, by utilizing a combined action of quasistationary processes instigated by reduced pressure and of non stationary processes generated by a hydrodynamic cavitator. Due to a repeated circulation of the oil filling through a non-stationary and a quasistationary separating process, a high purity of oil, which is subsequently forced back into the container of the oil system, or of an electric transformer, respectively, is achieved and simultaneously a safe removal of contaminations.

  • Patent number: 4561866
Abstract: Contaminants of oil fillings of technological units using oil as a cooling, lubricating, insulating, or power medium, are removed by periodically applying a separating working cycle and a pressure working cycle in a vessel connected with the oil system of the technological unit, and returning the cleaned oil to the oil system of the unit. In the course of the separating working cycle, gaseous and liquid contaminants in the vessel are brought to boiling by under-pressure generated by a reversible pump; a gas-liquid cushion created thereby above the oil surface in the vessel is displaced from the vessel in the course of the following pressure working cycle, which is caused by the reverse action of the pump, while the cleaned oil is returned to the oil system of the technological unit. Both cycles are repeated as often as required to clean the oil to the desired degree.

  • Patent number: 4292259
Abstract: Arrangement for sucking-off gases, creating by means of water supplied to an annular nozzle surrounding the outlet of a gas conduit and forming a first hydraulic pump with a vortex, thereby mixing the gas and water thoroughly and sucking off the mixture by a second annular water nozzle into an ejector or second pump extending into a diffuser which terminates below the level of water in a vessel, where separation of the gas and water takes place.

  • Patent number: 4202367
Abstract: There is disclosed a circuit arrangement for regulating the level of a liquid in vessels. The arrangement according to this invention comprises a draining vessel with a draining conduit, a fluid level pick-up device, a compensation pick-up device, and a working element. The main feature of the circuit arrangement is that the compensation pick-up device is connected to the draining vessel above the regulated liquid level and the upper part of the fluid level pick-up device is also connected to the draining conduit above the regulated liquid level. The lower part of the fluid level pick-up device is connected below the regulated level equally to the draining conduit.
