  • Patent number: 4663585
Abstract: Apparatus for testing the dielectric strength of insulating and/or cooling media, particularly insulating oils for electrical apparatus and equipment such as transformers, converters, switches or the like wherein a vessel is provided within which the material to be tested may be contained with electrodes providing a spark gap arranged therein being connected to the high voltage side of a testing generator having a transformer and a voltage control device, the internal resistance of the testing generator being made voltage-dependent and increasing with increasing voltage.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 31, 1984
Date of Patent: May 5, 1987
    Assignee: Baur Pruf-und Messtechnik K.G.
    Inventors: Michael Kruger, Josef Baur
  • Patent number: 4476911
Abstract: A diecasting process for producing cast pieces for metals or their alloys by means of a horizontal cold chamber diecasting machine. The diecasting machine includes a diecasting mold held under a vacuum, a fill chamber coupled to the diecasting mold, a holding furnace containing metal melt, a suction pipe partially immersed in the holding furnace and coupled to the fill chamber, means for transporting metal melt from the holding furnace through the suction pipe into the fill chamber under a vacuum, and means for moving the metal melt from the fill chamber into the diecasting mold. During the dosaging phase when the fill chamber is filled with metal melt, gases and lubricant vapors are developed upon entry of the melt into the fill chamber.

  • Patent number: 4470007
Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus for testing the electrical breakdown resistance potential of insulating media and/or cooling media, especially of synthetic insulating oils for transformers, transducers, switches or the like, having a container and, arranged therein, electrodes which form an adjustable spark distance.

Assignee: Baur Pruf - und Messtechnik KG
Inventors: Josef Baur, Armin Bernhart, Roland Ellensohn
  • Patent number: 3996512
Abstract: A cylindrical container for receiving an insulating or cooling medium for electrical apparatus to be tested for resistance to electrical breakdown. The medium enters and leaves the container through two valved apertures. Closure members are fluid-tightly mounted over the two ends of the container, and a pair of electrodes are arranged in the container to form a spark gap therebetween extending parallel to, or coaxially with, the longitudinal axis of the container. Each electrode is carried by a rod held in a respective closure member and a test voltage is applied to the electrodes from the outside through the electrode rods.
