  • Patent number: 4729526
Abstract: A sleeve type lap creel has two outer sleeve sections (1, 2) and an intermediate sleeve section (3) arranged in axial alignment with one another. The outer sections form substantially hollow cylinders. The intermediate section is formed by carrier ribs (8, 9) extending axially from each outer sleeve section toward the other sleeve section. The carrier ribs are circumferentially spaced so that the ribs of one outer sleeve section fit between the ribs of the other outer sleeve section. Initially, the ribs (8, 9) are fully extended and interconnected, for example axially or in the circumferential direction by frangible bridges (15). By pushing the outer sections toward each other the frangible bridges are broken and the ribs of one section move into the other section and vice versa. The ribs have projections (16) which fit into recesses (17) of the sleeve sections for arresting the ribs in the sleeve sections in a plurality of different positions, whereby the length of the lap creel is changeable.

  • Patent number: 4667895
Abstract: Axially extending ribs (7,8) are evenly distributed around the circular circumference of a lap creel. Upper ribs (7) protrude radially outwardly from the outer surface of a shell (5) of the lap creel in an upper carrying portion (1). Lower ribs (8) protrude radially inwardly from the inner surface of the shell (5) in a lower carrying portion (2). The radius of the upper carrying portion (1) is smaller than the radius of the lower carrying portion (2). Radially outer limiting surfaces (9) of the upper ribs (7) have a smaller radius than the inner radius of the shell (5) in the lower carrying portion (2). The radially inner limiting surfaces (10) of the lower ribs (8) have a radius which is larger than the outer radius of the shell (5) in the upper carrying portion (1). The limiting surfaces (9) of the upper ribs (7) have a larger radius than the radius of the limiting surfaces (10) of the lower ribs (8).

  • Patent number: 4567098
Abstract: Metallized paper whose metal layer has been deposited by evaporation in vacuo onto a cast-coated paper. The cast coating contains mineral pigments, latex binders and conventional additives, and at least 5 parts by weight of the pigment are a synthetic polymer pigment. The coating material has a pH value >7 and during the process of fabricating the metallized paper it is deposited in such an amount that, after the drying, 10-30 g/m.sup.2 of cast coating are present. The coating material deposited onto a paper web is dried until its moisture content is 5-15% and the web is then pressed with the coated paper surface against a drum with a highly polished surface at a temperature of 100.degree.-160.degree. C. by means of a roll with a nip >1000 N/cm.

  • Patent number: 4443392
Abstract: A process for the production of decorated molded articles wherein a base article is produced by casting and/or compression molding from a hardenable substance containing a minor amount of a thermosetting synthetic resin and a hardener therefor, and a major amount of at least one inert filler, and, optionally, accelerators, colorants and other auxiliary materials and by providing the article with a surface layer of hardenable lacquer resin.

  • Patent number: 4426077
Abstract: An elongated lever arm has one of its end portions pivotally connected to an upright of a box frame and extends generally horizontally inward into the frame opening. A cable guided by one or more pulleys or rollers is connected to the other end portion of the lever arm and is pulled manually by a user to swing the lever arm. A force-applying or resistance element is connected between the base of the frame and any one of several points along the length of the lever arm between its pivot and the cable. The point of connection of the resistance element to the lever arm can be changed to adjust its effective force resisting swinging of the lever arm. A mechanical stop mechanism is provided to maintain the lever arm horizontal and to counteract the force of the resistance element so that the force adjustment can be made quickly and easily.

  • Patent number: 4412138
Abstract: A pulse generator circuit generates pulses or logic signals with variable upper and lower levels. According to a preferred embodiment of this invention there are provided two variable voltage sources representing variable logic state levels. For alternately connecting these voltage sources with the output of the circuit there is provided a diode bridge in the configuration of a Graetz rectifier with two nodes connected to these voltages sources and the other two nodes forming complementary output signals; these latter two nodes are also connected to equal and opposite constant current sources which are reversible in accordance with a control signal. The voltage sources are coupled to the bridge via operational amplifiers configured as voltage followers. In each associated feedback loop of the voltage sources there is a diode substantially identical to those of the bridge which is coupled to a constant current source equal in magnitude to those of the constant current sources connected to the bridge.

  • Patent number: 4272037
Abstract: The invention relates to a lap creel made of rod shaped carrying members (1) which form, together with ring shaped fixing elements (2-6) a circular cage. The carrying members (1) project radially outwardly across a portion of the fixing elements (2-6). A fixing element (2) arranged at one end of the lap creel, has inwardly opening grooves (10), the number of which corresponds to the number of carrying members (1). Through these means the appropriate end of the lap creel receives a free-space inner cross-section which corresponds to the outer cross-section of the opposite end of the lap creel. The outer surfaces (7) of the carrying members (1) form parts of a shell which is shaped so that an imaginary enveloping of the lap creel in the central region has a contraction (8). The lap creel thus receives a bi-conical shape; that is, a shape which occurs if two truncated cones at the smaller of the end face diameters are arranged end to end.

  • Patent number: 4180219
Abstract: A lap creel comprising rod shaped carrier elements is used, for example, in the textile industry for winding up textile threads or yarns. For this purpose the rod shaped carrier elements are held together by holding or fixing elements which together with the carrier elements form a circular cage from which the carrier elements protrude radially beyond the holding elements. A plurality of holding elements may be arranged along the lap creel. The individual rod shaped carrier elements have a tapering shape so that the lap creel itself has a conical shape with a largest diameter end and a smallest diameter end. At the largest diameter end the holding element encircles the carrier elements so that the latter face radially inwardly. At the smallest diameter end, the carrier element surrounds the holding element so that the carrier elements face radially outwardly in the form of ribs.

  • Patent number: 4176811
Abstract: A conical yarn carrier comprises yarn supporting surfaces in the form of longitudinal rods which are held together by securing rings to form a cage having a circular cross section. Radially extending openings and longitudinally extending slots or channels are provided between the rods. These slots or channels extend lengthwise between adjacent yarn carrier rods and approximately from the middle of the yarn carrier axially to its upper edge and overlap with said openings. The yarn carrier further comprises a ring element located on the carrier surface forming rod. The ring element is axially displaceable within certain limits and comprises radially inwardly extending projections guided in the slots or channels.

  • Patent number: 3934653
Abstract: A semi-mounted or trailing roll-over plow arranged for maximum control over the plowing components. In such a plow wherein the axis of rotation of the roll-over (rotatable) slow part does not go through the center of gravity of such rotatable plow part, there is provided mechanism by which the rotatable plow part is shifted, and thereby its center of gravity is moved from an operating position substantially in a horizontal direction toward the axis of rotation, for thereby minimizing eccentricity of the rotatable plow part during a subsequent roll-over, or rotation. Hydraulic means are provided for effecting the lifting and/or shifting of the plow components as required for various phases of operation thereof.
