  • Publication number: 20160084527
Abstract: A hot-beverage preparation device, in particular such a machine for household purposes, has a heater for water, a pump for conveying the water in the preparation device, a temperature sensor for detecting the temperature of the water downstream of the heater, and a control device for controlling the heater and the pump. A method for controlling the hot-beverage preparation device is developed by the following steps at the end of a brewing operation: a) detecting the temperature of the preparation water, b) heating the water, c) until steam is generated.

  • Publication number: 20160084522
Abstract: A method for controlling a hot beverage preparation device, in particular a hot beverage machine for household use. The device has a heating system, at least one temperature sensor downstream of the heating system, a pump for conveying water within the preparation device, a control unit for controlling the heating system and the pump. The novel method includes the steps of subjecting the heating system to electric power, detecting a change in temperature downstream of the heating system after a defined period of time has passed, evaluating the detected change in temperature by comparing it to a target value, and outputting an error message or continuing/initiating a brewing process.

  • Patent number: 8889207
Abstract: A method for preparing hot beverages in a hot beverage machine by possibly repeatedly pumping a specific quantity of water from a water tank into a heating device, heating the quantity of water, pumping the heated quantity of water out of the heating device into a brewing chamber and possibly at the same time pumping a further quantity of water out of the water tank into the heating device, brewing a brewing substance contained in the brewing chamber to produce a hot beverage, and finally converting the quantity of water last pumped into the heating device completely into steam in a controlled manner for forcing liquid out of the entire line system downstream of the heating device.

  • Publication number: 20130245839
Abstract: A hot-beverage preparation apparatus, in particular a capsule machine, includes an actuator which generates sound emissions and/or vibrations and/or electromagnetic emissions and which can be operated in a normal operating mode for the purpose of preparing hot beverages. The hot-beverage preparation apparatus is designed to transmit data to a receiving device. The actuator can be operated at least in a data transmission mode, which generates sound emissions and/or vibrations and/or electromagnetic emissions, for the purpose of transmitting data to a receiving device.

  • Patent number: 8383181
Abstract: A method for producing crema in a coffee vending machine that has a flow-through heater for heating water and that is charged with substrate capsules which include a Venturi nozzle for crema production. The method includes a) heating the water in the flow-through heater; b) brewing ground coffee using the heated water in a brewing chamber in order to produce a coffee drink; and c) producing crema by mixing the coffee drink with a gas in the Venturi nozzle. In step c), at least one of two volumetric flows of the coffee drink or the gas is increased in the Venturi nozzle during a predetermined time interval.
