  • Patent number: 7088786
Abstract: Process for the transmission of analog and digital information. The object of the invention is the transmission of both analog-coded and digital-coded information only with an alternating current of one frequency and one phase position. This is accomplished in accordance with the invention in such a way that the carrier of the analog and digital information to synchronize the periods or half-periods of an uninterrupted sequence, so that, as needed, the periods or half-periods can be employed in sequence. In a real-time transmission, the analog periods or half-periods have to be the same number as the code words of the digital information. Such a transmission affords a substantial simplification. Thus, in color television, for example, the luminance signal can be transmitted in an analog manner and the color signal can be transmitted in series in a digital manner. Thus, no phase problems arise. The receiver can be designed as a superheterodyne radio receiver up to the decoder.

  • Patent number: 7027525
Abstract: The invention relates to AC coding. The phase angle or the duration of pulses are marked by half-periods or periods and are then provided as stages. The aim of the present invention is to flexibly adjust the bandwidths and bit rates. The number of filler elements that are allocated to the active code elements is increased or reduced. Bit rate flexibility is obtained by increasing or reducing the positions or stages or by configuring the code elements of virtual code words in a serial manner in relation to code words for transmitting information, whereby said code elements are arranged in parallel.

Abstract: Process for the transmission of analog and digital information. The object of the invention is the transmission of both analog-coded and digital-coded information only with an alternating current of one frequency and one phase position. A corresponding analog coding has already been disclosed in the Canadian Patent No. 1,214,277 and corresponding digital codings have been disclosed in the patent U.S. Pat. No. 6,072,829.

  • Patent number: 6463104
Abstract: This invention concerns a method of increasing coding levels. In this method, an increase in levels is achieved with multi-level coding, where uninterrupted periodic sequences such as an alternating current of the same frequency and phase relation are provided as the code elements, and where the code elements are flagged with respect to one another by changes in amplitude; this increase in levels is achieved by the fact that the next code element begins or ends either with a positive or negative half-period, so that two levels can be marked with one code element. This has the effect, for example, that six levels are obtained instead of three. In numbers, this means that with three levels and two, three, four and five places there are 9, 27, 81 and 243 combinations, and with six levels and two, three four and five places there are 36, 216, 1296 and 7776 combinations.

  • Patent number: 6072829
Abstract: To achieve economy of a transmission path with good quality of transmission and low expenditure compared to previous codes such as 4PSK-64PSK, the invention provides higher-value pulse duration encoding, such that there is provided only an alternating current of a frequency and phase position, with code elements of different pulse durations which are encoded by a different number of periods or half-periods. The following duration pulse is marked by an amplitude change.

  • Patent number: 5587797
Abstract: The present invention relates to process for encoding and transmitting information wherein data, digitalized speech, image, or documents, optionally in colour, are encoded by multilevel combination code with multilevel code elements into a signal, in particular represented by period duration of said signal and/or by a different number of periods in connection with amplitude levels of said signal whereby an amplitude level is used as redundance or quasi level for an identification of code combinations. In the case of digital encoding of the information of a sequence of similar code elements, similar code words, similar lines with associated code words in the sequence are combined in such a way that the number of the sequences are provided in code.

  • Patent number: 5581368
Abstract: A coding of images and originals, for example, for telefax and color television, allows transmission time to be shortened, in particular in the case of black and white digital or numeric longitudinal coding. For that purpose, the same code words for black and white are provided also for different numbers or digits. As discriminating criterion, the input sequence of black and white is used. During coding of several successive white lines, transmission time can be further shortened in that the coded number of white lines is provided before or after the code word for the white line. During gray coding, transmission time is in particular reduced by subdividing the gray scales or binary code words, if necessary with deliberate redundancy, since in this case many characters occur successively and are then transmitted in the same way as the white lines.

Abstract: A method is provided for coding images and originals, for example, for telefax and color television. The method saves hardware and allows the transmission time of information to be shortened, particularly for black and white digital or numeric longitudinal coding. According to the method of the present invention, the same code words are assigned for black and white run-lengths. As discriminating criterion, the input sequence of black and white is used. During coding of several successive white lines, the transmission time can be further shortened by providing the coded number of white lines before or after the code word for the white line. During gray coding, transmission time can further be reduced by subdividing the gray scales or binary code words with deliberate redundancy, if necessary, since in this case many characters occur successively and can be transmitted in the same way as the white lines.

  • Patent number: 5050188
Abstract: In the transmission of information, particularly long-distance speech signals, between a first and a second station, the information is transmitted from the first to the second station by means of a code alternating current of predetermined frequency and phase-state, and from the second station to the first station by means of a code alternating current which has the predetermined frequency and a phase shifted by 90.degree. with respect to the predetermined phase. The phase of the code alternating current transmitted from the second to the first station can be driven by means of the phase of the code alternating current transmitted from the first to the second station. The code alternating currents may contain code elements in the form of half waves or periods of differentiated amplitudes of the code alternating current, which is essentially sinusoidal. In order to use multiplication, two code-alternating-currents, whose phases are shifted by 90.degree.

  • Patent number: 4947483
Abstract: In transmission of information over junction routes with exchanges, the feedback circuits that occur in hybrid sets are a major problem. High demands are made of them and the balancing networks. This invention eliminates these shortcomings in that quasi-4-wire circuits are formed by providing coded alternating currents of different frequencies and/or frequency positions for the two transmission directions and filters with high stop band attenuation for the opposite direction are provided when it is necessary to separate the two transmission directions.

  • Patent number: 4731798
Abstract: Due to pulse amplitude modulation (PAM) there is an unwanted signal being undesirably strong and a broadening of the frequency band as a result of the pulses. In the case of digital binary-coding of signals with half-waves or periods of an alternating current and the code elements having small and large amplitude values, high frequencies are required. In the present invention, the samples of the pulse amplitude modulation of signals ranging from single polar/binary to continuous are being coded by half-waves or periods of an alternating current, also providing alternating currents of a lower frequency with predetermined mutual phase shifting for the samples. Due to these measures the aforementioned shortcomings are avoided.

  • Patent number: 4675721
Abstract: In a method for transmission of color television signals, at least two color information containing signals are coded using code elements comprised of a half period or a full period of a sine wave, the sequence of code elements forming at least one essentially sinusoidal code signal stream. In one embodiment, the code elements form binary code words for conveying different types of information, as hue and saturation of a color picture element. Alternatively, each code element may have an amplitude related to the value of the information to be transmitted, as saturation of a specific primary color. Each code word may comprise a plurality of portions related to different types of information, as different primary colors, audio information and the like. Two code signal streams each forming a sine wave of the same predetermined frequency may be phase displaced by 90 degrees, superimposed and employed in a composite video signal e.g. instead of and at the same frequency as an usual color subcarrier wave.
