Patent number: 4733796Abstract: A cigarette package includes an open topped container for holding a plurality of cigarettes and a cover hinged to the back wall of the container for selectively closing the open top of the container. The top edge of the front wall of the container is lower than the top edge of the back wall of the container and each of the container side walls are notched such that the top edge of the container side walls defining the notch extend from the top edge of the container back wall to the top edge of the container front wall. The cover has a top wall, a front wall, and two side walls. Each of the cover side walls are notched in a complementary shape to the notched portion of the container side walls. The cover is releasably held in a closed position closing the open top of the container by interlocking latches and strikers. The latch is formed in the cover and the striker is formed in the container. The package is fabricated of an impact resistant flexible material.Type: GrantFiled: May 18, 1987Date of Patent: March 29, 1988Assignee: Brown & Williamson Tobacco CorporationInventors: Dale A. Patent number: 4643326Abstract: A cup-shaped container formed of a molded synthetic resin. A handle is removably secured to a connector portion of the container, with the connection therebetween being constructed to cause an increase in the connection force as a result of weight of liquid placed in the container when the handle is supported as by a person using the container as a drinking cup. In one embodiment, the invention utilizes a closure having frictional engagement with an upper edge portion of the container for selectively closing the same. A connector between the closure and the handle provides an increase in the connection force as a result of the closure being secured to the container edge portion.Type: GrantFiled: May 24, 1985Date of Patent: February 17, 1987Assignee: Janler CorporationInventor: Josef F. Patent number: 4399928Abstract: A closure cap defining a dispenser port. A stopper tab is pivotally mounted to the closure cap for selectively closing the port. The closure cap includes an end wall having a concave portion defining a camming surface. A resilient finger is provided on the stopper tab and includes a tip portion slidably engaging the camming surface. The finger tip is deflected by its engagement with the camming surface when the stopper tab is arranged in the port-closing disposition so as to bias the stopper tab toward the axis of the pivot portion. The finger tip coacts with the camming surface further to bias the stopper tab pivotally toward an open position wherein the stopper portion is spaced from the port as a result of the stopper tab being moved from the port-closing disposition. The camming surface further coacts with the stopper tab to releasably retain the stopper tab in the fully open pivotal position.Type: GrantFiled: April 14, 1982Date of Patent: August 23, 1983Assignee: Janler CorporationInventor: Josef F. Patent number: 4040724Abstract: A magnifying display article, such as a paperweight, having a transparent cover portion defining a magnifying lens, and a base having a mounting portion and a centering structure for centering the mounting portion below the lens. The base is sealed to the cover outwardly of the mounting portion, and in the illustrated embodiment, the centering structure defines a first seal and adhesive sealant defines a second seal. The mounting portion of the base is defined by a pedestal which supports the display to be observed through the magnifying lens in an in-focus disposition.Type: GrantFiled: August 22, 1975Date of Patent: August 9, 1977Inventor: Josef F. Patent number: 3982343Abstract: A simulated article display structure wherein a representation of an article is provided within a transparent enclosure defined by a formed inner surface provided with a suitable coating. In the illustrated embodiment, the enclosure includes two portions secured together to provide a simulation of a three-dimensional embedded article. In the illustrated embodiment, the article being simulated is a coin and the enclosure is an enclosure similar to conventional coin collector mounts. The simulation of the article may be enhanced by the provision of a weight within the hollow interior of the simulated representation. Simulation of the color ot the article may be enhanced by coloring of the enclosure material.Type: GrantFiled: June 18, 1975Date of Patent: September 28, 1976Inventor: Josef F. Klingler

Patent number: 3976740Abstract: A method of forming a thermometer structure, such as a low cost clinical thermometer, wherein the thermometer enclosure structure is formed of plastic as by molding. The capillary element of the thermometer is molded about a taut wire and is removed from the molding cavity by being urged along the wire to an exterior position. The thusly removed element is utilized as a pressure-applying means on the wire to hold the wire taught for subsequent molding of a subsequent element in the mold cavity. The subsequent element is then utilized to remove the previous element from the end of the wire and replace it as the means for holding the wire taut for molding a second subsequent element about the wire. A scale is located on the capillary element by accurately determining the top of the liquid column at a preselected temperature and coordinating the placement of the scale on the element relative to said determined level.Type: GrantFiled: April 3, 1972Date of Patent: August 24, 1976Assignee: Thermex, Inc.Inventor: Josef F. Patent number: 3952753Abstract: A safety ashtray having means for retaining a cigarette with the burning end thereof overlying a central wall and preventing tipping of the cigarette outwardly from the ashtray as a result of further burning of the cigarette. The ashtray includes means for effectively positively snuffing the cigarette spaced inwardly of the outer edge of the ashtray and permits the use of the cigarette holding means to dispose the cigarette for improved snuffing action against the upper surface of the ashtray outwardly of the well.Type: GrantFiled: February 10, 1975Date of Patent: April 27, 1976Inventor: Josef F.
