  • Patent number: 4605954
Abstract: An image to be printed in a CRT or video color printer is sensed to generate red, blue and green signals respectively representing a characteristic of the image in red, blue and green. The signals are processed in a matrix circuit to generate a luminance signal. The red and blue signals are subtracted from the luminance signal in operational amplifiers to obtain unadjusted difference signals. Each of the unadjusted difference signals is multiplied by an adjusting factor which is established using variable resistors and functions to provide level adjustment. The adjusted difference signals obtained in this manner are subtracted from the luminnce signal in respective operational amplifiers to yield modified red and blue signals. The modified red and blue signals are processed together with the luminanace signal in a second matrix circuit to generate a modified green signal.

  • Patent number: 4066355
Abstract: An original bearing a multicolor image is displaced in a transverse direction passed a scanning location and a strip extending transverse to this direction on the original is irradiated with a white light for a predetermined time period. During this time period a plurality of different color-component strips are optically derived each corresponding to a respective color component of the irradiated strip and each of these color component strips is applied to a respective solid-state transducer. A row of photodiodes in the transducer charges up respective capacitors therein during the scanning time period and the charges in these capacitors are read out seriatim and fed to respective scribers which reproduce the respective color component of the image on the original on the copy sheet. Dichroic mirrors tippable about axes parallel to the irradiated strip on the original are employed to pick off the separate color components.

  • Patent number: 4031550
Abstract: For reproduction on a television receiver, movie film is moved continuously past a scanning region. Each image is scanned three times in direction opposite to film motion, the starting point of each scan being displaced one-third of image height in direction of motion of film.

  • Patent number: 4017891
Abstract: A first, second and third color component image are each recorded line-by-line on a reproduction carrier during scanning of the original as the reproduction carrier is transported past a first, second and third recording station respectively. The recording is achieved by an intensity modulated beam deflected in a direction perpendicular to the direction of transport. To superimpose the second and third color component image exactly onto the first color component image, a mark is created either at the first recording station or prior to the time the reproduction carrier arrives at the first recording station. The mark is sensed at least at the second and third recording station and a sawtooth generator started when the mark is sensed and stopped with the vertical trigger pulse of the beam deflection system used to adjust the position of the beam in the direction of transport of the reproduction carrier.

  • Patent number: 4007489
Abstract: An original is sampled line-by-line at a predetermined number of points along each line and sampling signals indicative of the density of the original in each of three colors are furnished while electrographic paper or film is transported past a first, second and third recording station. At each recording station a line of electrodes having a length exceeding the width of the copy to be made and exceeding in number the number of sampling points of the original along each line extends in a direction perpendicular to the direction of transport of the paper. A mark on the paper is sensed at each station and the deviation of the position of the mark from a desired position in the line direction determines which electrode will be used to start the recording of the line. In the direction of transport, the deviation of the position of said mark from a desired position is sensed and the start of the line recording varied in time in accordance therewith.

  • Patent number: 3984187
Abstract: An original bears a pictorial image, or the like. The original is illuminated with first and second light and the image on the original is projected onto a copy carrier. The spatial variation of the intensity of the first light after the first light has been modulated in intensity by the image on the original is detected. The contrast of the image projected onto the copy carrier compared to the contrast of the image on the original is changed by changing the spatial variation of the second light in dependence upon the detected spatial variation of the intensity of the modulated first light.
