  • Patent number: 10628057
Abstract: An example computing system may include a plurality of processors, persistent memory that is shared by the plurality of processors, and a memory-side accelerator that is to control access to the memory. A requesting processor of the plurality of processors may simultaneously request locking of and access to a target data object of the persistent memory by sending a single lock-and-access message to the memory-side accelerator. The lock-and-access message may include a first memory capability pointing to the target data object, a second memory capability pointing to a lock object that controls locking of the target data object, and a specified access operation that is requested.

  • Patent number: 10387335
Abstract: In one example, a processor sends a memory access request including a data capability and a handle which references a master capability. In response to receiving the memory access request, a memory controller checks whether the handle references a valid master capability and checks whether the data capability is within a scope of the master capability. In response to determining that the master capability is valid and the data capability is within the scope of the master capability, the memory controller returns a result of the memory access request to the processor.

  • Patent number: 10113120
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for processing fluid from a well are described. A first wall portion may define a first region and a second wall portion may define a second region, fluid from said well being let through those regions. Heating of said first wall portion may be performed to release wax from said first wall portion into said fluid at said first flow region. During said heating, cooling of said fluid at said second flow region may be performed to cause wax from said fluid to deposit on said second wall portion.

  • Patent number: 9874480
Abstract: A method and apparatus for determining contents of a conduit containing at least one fluid is described. The conduit may be at least partially defined by at least one wall portion. The wall portion may be cooled. After cooling said, the temperature at least one temperature sensor located adjacent to the wall portion may be measured. A characteristic of said contents is determined based on said measured temperature at the or each temperature sensor.

  • Patent number: 9702745
Abstract: A method and apparatus for determining multiphase flow characteristics inside production equipment containing at least two fluids. A pulse of heat from a heat source adjacent to the production equipment is provided, and a thermal response to the pulse is measured at each of a plurality of temperature sensors located adjacent to the production equipment. The thermal response measurement includes a time constant obtained from a measured decline in the temperature after the pulse of heat has been provided. The measured thermal responses are used to determine parameters of a fluid contained in the production equipment in proximity to each of the temperature sensors. The determined fluid parameters are in turn used to determine multiphase flow characteristics.

  • Patent number: 9019367
Abstract: The application pertains to detecting the fill level of a container for transporting and/or storing objects. This is achieved by determining an estimate of the number of objects in the container with the aid of a value of the container volume occupied by the objects or the already emptied container volume, on the basis of an average object volume of one or of a predetermined number of the objects, as long as the container bottom is covered by objects situated in the container. When a predetermined portion of the container bottom is visible, the objects in the container are counted, by identifying the individual objects on the container bottom. In addition, a container that is particularly suitable for the proposed methods and a system with a plurality of such containers are proposed.
