  • Patent number: 8500220
Abstract: The invention relates to a vehicle braking system having regulating devices determining the transversely dynamic behavior of the vehicle, in order to maintain or restore stable vehicle behavior, by setting the braking torque on individual vehicle wheels independently of the driver. The performance of the braking system is controlled in this manner to help prevent vehicle rollover (overturning laterally) when negotiating curves. This is accomplished by generating a braking torque on the front wheel on the outside of the curve (or increasing a braking torque that is already set).

  • Patent number: 8448756
Abstract: A procedure for actuating a parking brake is described, the parking brake comprising a brake piston which is received in a hydraulic chamber and is displaceable within the hydraulic chamber by means of a hydraulic actuator on the one hand and a mechanical actuator on the other. During operation of the parking brake the mechanical actuator is activated in a first step in order to displace the brake piston in the hydraulic chamber in such a way that a volume of a hydraulic fluid contained in the hydraulic chamber is increased. At a subsequent time the hydraulic actuator is activated in order to build up or increase a clamping force of the parking brake. The hydraulically generated or increased clamping force is then maintained by means of the mechanical actuator.

  • Publication number: 20100033009
Abstract: A method and a device for tightening a hydraulic parking brake are disclosed. In the method, a tightening force is generated in a first step by creating a hydraulic pressure in a parking brake circuit. To this end, a pressure generating unit driven by an electric motor is used. In a subsequent step, at least one motor-related parameter which permits a conclusion about the hydraulic pressure prevailing in the parking brake circuit is detected. Subsequently, an activation of a tightening force assistance device takes place depending on the detected motor-related parameter and without the necessity of providing a pressure sensor.
