  • Patent number: 7655114
Abstract: The present invention shows a process and device of calendering a web. The process includes drying the web and winding the web at the end of a production section. The process includes transporting the wound web to at least one off-line calender, unwinding the web and passing the web through the at least one off-line calender. Further, the process includes treating the web between drying and winding of the web in at least one on-line calendering unit. Further still, the process includes at least one on-line calendering unit includes at least one nip defined by at least one hard roller. The instant abstract is neither intended to define the invention disclosed in this specification nor intended to limit the scope of the invention in any way.

  • Patent number: 6250582
Abstract: Roll winding device and method. The roll winding device has two carrying rollers defining a winding bed adapted to receive a wound roll. Each roller has a respective longitudinal axis, the longitudinal axes being substantially parallel to one another. The device includes a pressure chamber arrangement having opposed sides, opposed ends and a bottom, each side being defined by a respective carrying roller, the bottom being defined by a sealing body, and an end wall present at each opposed end. At least one end wall is a mobile end wall that is adapted to move along an an axis substantially parallel to the longitudinal axes of the carrying rollers. Also provided is a roll winding method for use with a roll winding device.

  • Patent number: 6102325
Abstract: Reel slitting device for a material web that includes a slitting station that slits the material web into a plurality of partial webs and a winding station that winds the plurality of partial webs into a plurality of partial web rolls. The winding station includes at least two winding position groups having winding units, such that winding units within a same winding position group are located at a distance from each other to form gaps between adjacent partial webs within the same winding position group. The reel slitting device also includes a guide device that guides the partial webs between the slitting station and the winding position groups, the guide device being divided into a plurality of zones that are arranged transversely to a run direction of the partial webs and that are individually activatable.

  • Patent number: 6016987
Abstract: Winding device for a material web. The winding device includes holding arms and two pivot pins adapted to receive a winding tube. The pivot pins are positioned on the holding arms to face each other and are positionably adjustable to vary a distance therebetween. The winding device also includes a carrying vessel positioned on each holding arm so that the carrying vessels are movable into a transfer position adjacent to the pivot pins. A distance between the carrying vessels is smaller than a distance between the pivot pins at least prior to the winding tube receiving the pivot pins.
