  • Patent number: 6220119
Abstract: Stripping tongs for sheathed electrical cables (K) have two tong arms (1, 2) that can pivot toward one another about a common pivoting shaft (3), counter to a restoring spring the tongs further having cable cross-cutters (4, 5) and cuting blades (6, 7) with associated clamping jaws (8, 9) for stripping cable. The cable cross-cutters (4, 5) and the cutting blades (6, 7) with the associated clamping jaws (8, 9) are disposed adjacently and parallel to one another with spacing, and lie in the common tong closing and opening plane extending transversely to the pivoting shaft (3).

  • Patent number: 6079104
Abstract: The stripping tool for removing the insulations of single- or multicore electrical cables provided with multiple layers of insulation has two trough-shaped jaws (4, 5), which are hinged together and can pivot toward one another. In a common tool end face, the two jaws (4, 5) have two stripping blades (6, 7) that extend transversely to the longitudinal direction of the jaws, the blades having cutters (8, 9), which are disposed with different gap spacing (S1, S2) from one another, for stripping the outer cable insulation and an inner cable-core insulation. At one jaw (4), a cutting blade (10) is held on the inside so as to be displaced in a guide, the blade extending in the longitudinal direction of the jaw and being extendable out of the tool end face opposite the blades (6, 7) into a functional position for separating insulation fibers (3) between the outer and inner insulations.

  • Patent number: 5611138
Abstract: A pliers-like tool for twisting the partly stripped end of the multiple-strand core of an insulated conductor, characterized by projections 41 and 42 extending out of the free end of each jaw 121 & 131 and toward the other jaw into the space between them, whereby the projections follow the arc described by the opening and closing jaws, the projections are not coplanar, and space is accordingly left between them, one of the projections is long enough to overlap the other to a limited extent when the jaws are separated, and the surfaces of the jaws that demarcate the space between them are high-friction. The conductor is cut to length, insulation is stripped from the end of the core to a limited extent, the end of the core is twisted between the high-friction surfaces, and a connector is extracted from a belt and crimped around the twisted end, all by the same tool.

  • Patent number: 5063795
Abstract: A stripping tool for electrical conductors has two legs turnable relative to one another against a spring force, clamping jaws arranged on free ends of the legs, cutters movable to a closed position by the clamping jaws in direction toward a conductor end to strip an insulation. A second one of the legs is movable in an elongated guide of the first one of the legs to turn relative to the first leg and to be moved in an alignment with the latter. One of the clamping jaws is arranged on a free end of the second leg at a side facing away of the first leg, the other of the clamping jaws cooperate with the one clamping jaw and also extends from a web of the first leg, engaging the second leg and forming a first bracket which is displaceable relative to the first leg. A second bracket is arranged in a fixed position at a distance from the clamping jaws from the first leg and engaging the second leg.

  • Patent number: 4986148
Abstract: A device for removing casings and coatings from glass fiber cables comprises two jaws which are movable relative to one another between a folded position in which they form a hollow body with an axis for receiving a glass fiber cable and an unfolded position, the jaws having inner walls, two holders mounted on opposite sides of the axis on the inner walls of the jaws and turnable toward one another from a point of mounting, and two cutters supported on the holders having cutting edges which extend transversely to the axis and directly abut against one another on the axis.

  • Patent number: 4905373
Abstract: The sheathing-removing tool for removing insulation from a single or multiconductor cable comprises two jaws, which are hingedly connected with each other at common pivot axles foldable to form a hollow body for receiving the cable and which have cutting edges adjacent one end of the jaws for making a circular cut and a longitudinal incision. A section knife for removal of insulation from the individual conductors is located in the vicinity of the cutting edges for the circular cut on the long edges of the opposing jaws which press on each other when the jaws are closed. A slitting knife for making a longitudinal incision is located at the other end of the jaws opposite the cutting edges.

  • Patent number: 4787144
Abstract: A cutting tool for stripping an insulation sheath from a cable guided in a chute formed in a tool housing comprises two driving levers for displacing the cable towards the blades for stripping the sheath. The two levers are positionable on the housing so as to drive the cable after the blades have cut the sheath.

  • Patent number: 4587731
Abstract: A cutting tool for stripping cables and wires comprises two pivotable gripping cheeks provided with cutting edges. The cheeks are pivoted about an axis of symmetry of the tool between an open position in which the cable is inserted into the tool and a closed position in which the cutting edges produce a circular cut in an insulation sheath of the cable.

  • Patent number: 4557164
Abstract: A wire stripping plier has two crossing pivotable arms with hand grips and gripping jaws for gripping the insulation to be stripped from the wire. Two opposing stripping members are provided in the plier, which member can be longitudinally displaced one relative to another upon the pivoting movement of the hand grips towards each other after the insulation has been severed from the wire. Due to this longitudinal displacement the severed insulation is stripped from the wire.
