  • Publication number: 20040012154
Abstract: The invention relates to a multi-layered steel gasket, for example, a cylinder head gasket, with at least one through opening (7,7′), for example, for the combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine, with at least three active metallic sealing layers (2, 2′, 2″) arranged one on the other. In at least two sealing layers (2, 2″) beads (3, 3″) are formed around the through openings and in a spacer sheet (6) arranged between the both sealing layers a bead-shaped plastically deformable deformation limiter (4) is arranged on the side adjacent to the beads.

  • Patent number: 6315303
Abstract: A gasket is provided that is suitable for use in connection with a cylinder head. The gasket includes a first outer plate including a compensating portion, a second outer plate including a compensating portion, and a compensating plate positioned between said first and second outer plates. Preferably, at least one of said first and second outer plates includes a bead positioned outside of, and in close proximity to, said compensation portion of said plate. The compensating plate includes a compensating element and an edge portion. In a preferred embodiment, the area between the compensating portions of said first and second outer plates defines a compensating area and said compensating element is positioned within said compensating area. If desired, the gasket may also include a spacer plate.

  • Patent number: 5811037
Abstract: A method is disclosed of operating an injection molding machine including a hydraulic device (1) which has an asynchronous main drive motor (10) driving a hydraulic pump (2). The injection molding machine is operated in an injection molding cycle with a cooling phase and a phase in which an injection molding tool is opened following the cooling phase. It is determined before commencement of the injection molding cycle if the duration of the cooling phase is above a minimum duration. If the duration of the cooling phase is above the minimum duration the asynchronous main drive motor (10) is switched off after or at commencement of the cooling phase and is switched on again before commencement of the phase in which the injection molding tool is opened. Electrical energy is saved by switching off the main drive motor in dependence on the cycle.

  • Patent number: 5581791
Abstract: A method for transmitting high-priority programs and data between a first function unit and a second function unit of a communication system, wherein computer programs and data having different priorities are transmitted from the first function unit to an address calculation process via a first message route and the second function unit accesses an output list administered by the address calculation process for address calculation and forwards the computer programs and data to peripheral equipment via message distributor units, including the steps of: writing into a buffer memory allocated to the first function high-priority programs and data of first control procedures sequencing in the first function unit via at least one additional message route; subsequently sending a first message from the first control procedures to second control procedures sequencing in the second function unit; initiating the second function unit to read-out the high-priority programs and data deposited in the buffer memory; and subs
