  • Publication number: 20010038883
Abstract: A sensor has a housing, in which there is arranged a thermosetting molding compound which is encapsulated in a linear region in the longitudinal direction of the housing by a thermoplastic molding compound. The two molding compounds meet at a conical contact surface. An electrical terminal element is electrically connected to a printed-circuit board via lines. The printed-circuit board is embedded into the two molding compounds at the level of the center line, the thermosetting molding compound enclosing all the electrically active components and conductor tracks of the printed-circuit board. Annular grooves are arranged on the outer side of the thermosetting molding compound. Due to the encapsulation, the thermoplastic molding compound engages in these annular grooves in a positively and non-positively engaging manner.

  • Publication number: 20010023153
Abstract: In order to make a process available for the production of a position sensor comprising a housing, in the housing interior of which an electrical circuit arranged on a carrier is seated, which can be carried out with less time expended and inexpensively it is suggested that the carrier be connected to an electrical connection element to form a carrier-connection element combination, the carrier-connection element combination be introduced into the housing closed at a measuring end from the rear end located opposite the measuring end, the space around the carrier-connection element combination in the interior of the housing be filled with a molding compound up to a specific level and a cap be connected to the rear end of the housing, connections of the connection element being guided through this cap.

  • Patent number: 6097490
Abstract: An optical position measuring instrument, by way of which, along with other position signals regarding the relative location of two objects movable relative to one another, additionally at least one reference pulse signal regarding a defined relative position of the two objects can be generated. This instrument includes a light source, and a reference pulse transmission structure disposed upstream of the light source, which structure has a first irregular distribution of regions with two different optical properties, the beam path being divergent between the light source (LQ) and the reference pulse transmission structure (S). In addition, a reference pulse scale structure is provided adjacent to the transmission structure; this scale structure has an irregular distribution of regions with two different optical properties.

  • Patent number: 6068664
Abstract: A tightening device for a safety belt includes a cable having a first end and a second end. A drive is connected to the first end of the cable. The drive, when activated, moves the cable in a tightening direction. The second end of the cable is connected to a safety belt. A deflection device about which the cable is guided is provided. The deflection device has a rotatable eccentric pawl and a stop. The stop limits rotation of the eccentric pawl when rotated upon movement of the cable in the tightening direction and thus defines a deflection position of the eccentric pawl. The eccentric pawl has an elongate extension extending in a direction of the cable portion extending between the drive and a deflection location at the deflection device. The eccentric pawl has a deflection end guiding the cable at the deflection location. The eccentric pawl has an eccentric arc opposite the deflection end.

  • Patent number: 5829827
Abstract: A passenger seat for motor vehicle has a seat member and a backrest. A first side air bag is integrated into the seat member and the backrest for lateral impact protection in an accident. Upon activation the first side air bag is inflated and emerges from the seat member and the backrest so as to bridge laterally the space between the seat member and the backrest. The first side air bag is a hose having an initial diameter and an initial length, wherein upon inflation the initial diameter increases and the initial length shortens. The hose is connected with a first end to a fastening point at a forward portion of seat member and with a second end to a fastening point at an upper portion of the backrest.

  • Patent number: 5819510
Abstract: A packaging machine for the working and processing of at least one length of foil has a chamber consisting essentially of an upper part (1) and a lower part (2). The chamber parts (1,2) are moveable relative to one another on guides (6) on both sides of the foil (24) by means of at least one cylinder-piston arrangement (3) which drives a toggle lever arrangement (4,5). The cylinder-piston arrangement (3) is arranged in the median plane (7) between the guides (6) and drives the toggle lever arrangement (4,5) in the same way under the ends (8) of the guides (6), the toggle lever arrangement (4,5) driving the lower part (2). The toggle lever arrangement (4,5) is operably connected to a liftable and lowerable yolk (11) such that during lifting movement of the lower part (2) the yolk (11) descends, and vice versa, and the yolk (11) is rigidly connected to the upper part (1).

  • Patent number: 5044575
Abstract: A belt clamping apparatus is provided for a seat belt system comprising a belt retractor and a device which is controlled by at least one acceleration sensor and serves to lock gears which are connected to the reel shaft of the belt retractor. The clamping apparatus comprises a clamping wedge, which is guided on a sliding surface that is fixed to a housing to move parallel to a back-pressure plate which is fixed to the housing, and together with the clamping wedge defines a gap for the passage of the belt, and an actuating member, which is movable by the locking device and displaces the clamping wedge to its clamping position. The actuating member is rotatably connected at one end to the housing and is pivoted at its other end to the clamping wedge, when the belt is being extracted further after the gears have been blocked by the actuating member in response to the movement of the reel shaft and imparts a translational movement to the clamping wedge.

  • Patent number: 4948171
Abstract: An acceleration sensor for safety systems such as seat belt systems in motor vehicles, particularly so-called buckle-connected tighteners, comprises a sensor mass which is generally held in a position of rest but is capable of displacement in response to a predetermined critical acceleration to activate the safety system. In one embodiment, an inertial force sensor consists of a sensor lever pivoted to a part fixed in the vehicle, said sensor lever carries at its upwardly protruding free end an inertial mass, preferably in the form of an enlarged head, the sensor lever being held by a spring which urges said sensor lever toward its vertical stand-by position, and being connected by levers and/or links to a release mechanism for releasing a spring-loaded tie rod or the like or a blocking device.

  • Patent number: 4944531
Abstract: In a device for coupling and locking a bracket, which is provided with a buckle of a seat belt, in case of danger to a retaining member, which is fixed in a vehicle, the bracket, or a housing part or the like which is connected to the bracket, is connected to a movable coupling member, which in a guide of a seat frame plate or the like is guided in such a manner or by a linkage is so connected to said seat frame plate or the like that a tension exerted on the buckle will cause the latter to be coupled to the retaining member, which is fixedly mounted in the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 4607805
Abstract: An emergency locking retractor for a vehicle safety belt has a spool rotatably mounted on a frame, primary locking means arranged to block rotation of the spool relative to the frame and secondary locking means for actuating the primary locking means. The secondary locking means including an inertia sensor and a pawl pivotally mounted on a carrier which is movable relative to the frame, the pawl being movable by the inertia sensor into simultaneous engagement with a stop member on the carrier and a ratchet wheel coupled to the spool so that subsequent rotation of the spool of the belt protraction direction causes movement of the carrier which in turn actuates the primary locking means. The stop member is so positioned relative to the pivotal mounting thereof that the pawl comes into abutment with the stop member before its pawl tip abuts against the periphery of the ratchet wheel between adjacent teeth thereof.
