  • Patent number: 7472281
Abstract: In a method for the automatic log-in of a subscriber station in a motor vehicle into an external information system, a non-automatic log-in is first performed by transmitting to the external information system a subscriber identification, a pertaining password and a station identification. The automatic log-in for the subscriber identification is activated by transmitting a corresponding request from the subscriber station to the external information system, establishing a secret code for the subscriber identification in the external information system, and transmitting the secret code in a hidden manner to the subscriber station. The secret code is stored in a hidden manner in the subscriber station. An automatic log-in of the subscriber station into the external information system is implemented by transmitting to the external information system the subscriber identification without the password, the station identification and transmitting the code in a hidden manner.

  • Patent number: 6360162
Abstract: The invention describes an efficient transmission of data for making possible an accurate reconstruction of a path driven by a vehicle in a traffic network, a terminal unit, a central bureau and a process for informing (13) a central bureau (107) about a path, in particular for informing a central traffic bureau about a path traveled by a vehicle (101) with a terminal unit in a traffic network, wherein location data representing the respective location of the terminal unit (102) is repeatedly detected by a terminal unit (102) with a location detection device (20), wherein reference points (108 to 112) are defined at a plurality of locations by the terminal unit on the traveled path based on criteria present in the terminal unit, wherein reference point information relating to these reference points (108 to 112) is transmitted (13) from the terminal unit (102) to the central bureau (107).

  • Patent number: 6324468
Abstract: An efficient transmission of route information, especially also in remote areas for which a terminal unit has no detailed map or location reference list, is made possible by a terminal unit, a central traffic station and a process for the transmission of route information concerning a route of a vehicle in a traffic network between a central traffic station and a terminal unit in a vehicle. The route information concerns path points lying on the route, wherein a path point is defined at every location where it is recommended that the vehicle turns off from a road. The next road following in the driving direction of the route, the location of the path point, and the driving direction after the path point are designated in each instance in route information for a path point.

  • Patent number: 6266607
Abstract: A suitable selection of information sent by a central traffic station with respect to its relevance for a route of a vehicle with a terminal unit through the traffic network is made possible by a terminal unit and by a process for the selection of traffic information which is relevant to a route of a vehicle in a traffic network, which vehicle has a terminal unit, and which is transmitted by a central station. The route is determined in the form of path points between a starting point and a destination in the traffic network. A zone is defined for the selection of relevant traffic information between two path points. Traffic information concerning a location in the zone is selected as relevant, while traffic information concerning a location outside of the zone is defined as irrelevant.

  • Patent number: 6256580
Abstract: Comfortable navigation is made possible with a small amount of transmitted information by a terminal unit, a central station and a process for the transmission of route information completely defining a route of a vehicle in a traffic network, which route is suggested as a navigation aid, from a central traffic station to a terminal unit in the vehicle. The route information concerns path points located on the suggested route, wherein a path point is defined wherever it is recommended by the central traffic station that the vehicle turn off from a road. Additional information defining the next path point following in the driving direction of the suggested route is transmitted in addition to route information at a path point.

  • Patent number: 6199009
Abstract: Navigation of a vehicle in a traffic network is optimized by a terminal, a traffic information center and a computer-assisted navigation method for a vehicle equipped with a terminal in a traffic network, using a digital map of the traffic network, in which a user requests a desired destination from the terminal and in which a route to the destination is determined, taking into account previous driving habits.

  • Patent number: 4402860
Abstract: An improved process for de-cobaltizing the primary product of an oxo synthesis is disclosed wherein the primary product is contacted with steam introduced into a vessel to which the primary oxo product is introduced but initially maintained in out of contact relationship to such product by a cooling medium whereby heat transfer from the steam to the primary product is initially avoided. The primary product and steam are fed to a cylindrical reactor having a conical base, and after the steam has risen 1/2 to 2/3 of the height of the conical base it comes in contact with the primary product whose liquid level height in the vessel is maintained at one to two times the vessel's diameter. An apparatus for performing such process is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 4242283
Abstract: An improved process for continuously producing oxygen-containing compounds by the oxo process from olefins, carbon monoxide and hydrogen at a pressure of 5 to 1000 bar and at a temperature of 50.degree. to 200.degree. C. in the presence of a metal of Group VIII and/or a compound thereof as catalyst is disclosed. According to the invention, the unreacted olefin carbon monoxide and hydrogen is passed to a high pressure reactor wherein unreacted olefin is reacted under oxo process conditions to form oxygen-containing compounds.
