  • Publication number: 20240093609
Abstract: A ram air turbine rotor comprises at least one intra-flow path shroud structure coupled between rotor blades, along a radial position between a support disc and an outer rim. The shroud structure includes shroud sectors each coupled between a respective pair of blades. The sectors each include a first edge adjacent to leading edges of the respective pair of blades, the first edge including a first curved segment, and a second edge adjacent to trailing edges of the respective pair of blades, the second edge including a second curved segment. The curved segments are each partially defined by a respective ellipse having a semi-major axis and a semi-minor axis. The semi-major axis is a portion of a spanwise distance between the respective pair of blades. The semi-minor axis is a portion of an axial distance between the leading edge of one blade and the trailing edge of an adjacent blade.

  • Patent number: 4638199
Abstract: The laminated stator body of a large turbo-generator consists of a stack of laminations (1) comprising laminated compression plates (2), which stack is clamped together by means of tie plates (3) and tension bolts (8). The end face of the compression plate is stepped in the axial and radial direction. The tie plates have either a contour which matches the outside contour of the compression plate (2) or are smooth and, in the latter case, are supported by arch pressure in the radial direction. The elaborate machining of the compression plate end face, resulting in the elimination of lamination shorts, can thus be omitted without impairing the electrical and magnetic effects of the laminated compression plate on the end field of the machine.

  • Patent number: 4316111
Abstract: A laminated pole for an electrical machine with salient poles is disclosed. The laminated pole includes a pole body having a plurality of pole sheets, and a pole end plate having a plurality of individual sheets. The pole sheets are layered and pressed one against another. The individual sheets are welded one to another, and may also be welded to a connecting pin. The connecting pin protrudes from the pole end plate in an axial direction and is used as a bearing or support member for a pole coil of the electrical machine. The individual sheets and the pole sheets are made from the same sheet material, have the same outside contour, and are punched with the same punching tool. Laminated pole end plates according to the present invention are cheaper to manufacture and suffer less pulsation losses and eddy current losses than solid pole end plates.
