  • Patent number: 5315865
Abstract: A turn angle indicator or angular displacement indicator and, more particularly, relates to a capacitive turn angle indicator, especially a positioning sensor for a flap or throttle valve, including a supporting plate fastened to the apparatus at a close narrow distance in front of a further supporting plate which is rotatable planar-parallel relative thereto and which is utilized for a mutually oppositely located narrow spoke or sector-shaped electrode pattern, and with a bearing structure for the rotatable supporting plate and which is fastened to the apparatus. The supporting plates are guided relative to each other through the intermediary of compressively-loaded distance spacers which are arranged in the region of the outer edges of the plates which extend in parallel with the axis of rotation of the rotatable plate.

  • Patent number: 5040745
Abstract: A setting device for a control surface for guided ammunition, including a spindle which is driven by a drive motor, a nut being seated on the spindle, which nut incorporates a projection on its outer cylindrical circumference, with which projection there engages a shaft of the control surface. The nut is guided within a sleeve, whereby the tolerance between the nut and the spindle, and the sliding tolerance or fit between the nut and the sleeve are selected such that the stresses or loads which are transmitted by the shaft of the control surface are assumed by the sleeve, and in which the projection engages into an axial slot in the sleeve.

  • Patent number: 4860969
Abstract: An airborne body possessing an over-caliber sized guidance mechanism having control surfaces which are retracted into the structure of the airborne body and arrested therein at their end surfaces through a securing arrangement so as to be released for outward extension into the operative position of the guidance mechanism in dependence upon an acceleration in the firing or launching direction. The airborne body is equipped with a pusher rod or ram which concurrently engages into all control surfaces and which is axially displaceable relative to the structure of the airborne body, and which upon a reduction in the acceleration of the airborne body in the launching direction, is disengaged from the control surfaces.

  • Patent number: 4844381
Abstract: An airborne submunition member, having glide wing retainers which are displaced about the outside on the fuselage or body of the member, in which glide wings are extendable, and which are retracted into the glide wing retainers in the condition of transport. At least one of the glide wing retainers is supported on the body or fuselage of the members as to be rotatable about the longitudinal axis thereof, and wherein this glide wing retainer is turned towards one of the other glide wing retainers in the transport position.

  • Patent number: 4728058
Abstract: An airborne body with an over-caliber sized guidance mechanism, especially a projectile with control surfaces, whose surfaces are retracted against a projectile tail structure prior to launching or firing of the projectile from a weapon barrel or tube, and are generally radially extended subsequent to exiting from the barrel. A securing or latching pin arrangement is provided between the tail end structure of the projectile and each control surface for maintaining the latter is a retracted position, and is released upon acceleration of the projectile after firing to allow for the outward extension of the control surfaces into their operative positions. In this connection, there is especially contemplated a projectile which is fireable from a mortar tube or other kind of weapon barrel, and which possesses guidance control surfaces in order to enable influencing a flight trajectory (such as, for instance, final flight-phase guidance).

  • Patent number: 4660786
Abstract: A pivot or bearing arrangement for the pivotable control surface of a guidable missile, especially a projectile which can be fired through the intermediary of the gas pressure generated by a propellant charge. The pivot bearing includes a control surface support guided by a radial ball bearing, including a circular shoulder which axially contacts against a sealing ring which lies on a shoulder of the supportive tail end structure of the projectile and which is constituted of a resiliently deformable or compressible material.

  • Patent number: 4651584
Abstract: A coupling arrangement between a linear control element and a pivoting element, especially for an aerodynamic control surface of a guidable missile. The coupling arrangement has the pivoting element equipped with a pivot arm which extends radially from its axis of rotation, wherein the pivot arm is oriented transverse to the sliding or thrust axis of the control element which, in turn, is oriented transverse to the axis of rotaion, and in which the pivot arm stands in engagement with the control element.

  • Patent number: 4646642
Abstract: A separating arrangement between multipart constructional elements, including an expansion chamber for at least one pyrotechnic charge which is bounded by the piston surface of a displacement or sliding piston. The separating arrangement has at least one gas passageway which communicates with the expansion chamber, through the intermediary of which a separating piston can be subjected to pressure. The combustion gas pressure of the pyrotechnic charges acts within the expansion chamber against different piston surfaces and thereby, in a constructively predeterminable manner, effects different successive piston movements, as a result of which the sequence of the individual separating operations which can be carried out in different directions predeterminably in a definite manner and functionally-dependent.
