  • Publication number: 20220271971
Abstract: A method for operating a vehicle electrical system of a vehicle, including a vehicle central computer, multiple intermediate control units, and at least one execution unit for each intermediate control unit. The vehicle electrical system is designed in an architecture in which the vehicle central computer is associated with a computational layer, intermediate control units are associated with an intermediate layer, and execution units are associated with an execution layer. Intermediate control units are each communicatively connected to a vehicle central computer via a first communication system, and each of the execution units is communicatively connected, directly or indirectly, to the intermediate control unit associated with it via a second communication system. A communication between an execution unit and a vehicle central computer takes place via an intermediate control unit. A communication between two multiple intermediate control units takes place solely via the computational layer.

  • Publication number: 20220271970
Abstract: A method for operating a communications network that includes a computing system, at least one intermediate control unit, and at least one execution unit for each intermediate control unit. The at least one intermediate control unit is communicatively connected to the computing system using a first communication system. Each of the at least one execution unit is communicatively connected to the associated intermediate control unit using a second communication system, which is a master-slave communication system, and used as a slave. A message configuration table for each second communication system is stored in the computing system, the message configuration table indicating a temporal sequence of data to be transmitted on the second communication system in question. For a communication with one of the execution units, data are sent from the computing system, via the associated intermediate control unit, to the execution unit according to the associated message configuration table.

  • Publication number: 20100161834
Abstract: A user interface between a FlexRay communications module which is connected to a FlexRay communications link over which messages are transmitted and which includes a message memory for buffer storing messages from the FlexRay communications link or for the FlexRay communications link, and a microcontroller which is assigned to the FlexRay communications module and which includes a microprocessor and a direct memory access (DMA) controller for exchanging data with the message memory. In order for the DMA controller of the microcontroller to be connected more effectively to the FlexRay communications module, the user interface has a state machine, which, once configured by the microprocessor of the microcontroller, independently coordinates and controls a data transmission between the message memory of the FlexRay communications module and the DMA controller.

  • Publication number: 20100061404
Abstract: A communication system having a communication medium and at least two subscribers connected thereto is described; the communication system being designed for transmitting data among the subscribers via the communication medium in communication frames of communication cycles via a time-triggered protocol. To accelerate the start of the communication system before the actual data transmission, the communication system has a device for generating at least two different synchronization frames per communication cycle and per channel, in at least one of the subscribers, e.g., in the node AB. For example, the device is designed as two separate communication controllers per transmission channel. As an alternative, the device may also be designed as a simple logic circuit, a so-called application-specific standard product. For generating the at least two different synchronization frames per communication cycle, the subscriber is designed as an active star coupler of the communication system.
