  • Patent number: 5381121
Abstract: A circuit breaker which is remote controllable by an external remote control switch by way of an electronic control unit and an electromagnetic switch drive controlled by the electronic control unit. The switch drive switches the electric circuit by a switch lock, which is latched to it and which, during an overload, is unlatched and opened by way of the release of the bimetal of switch drive and, as a result, interrupts the electric circuit. During bimetal release, an auxiliary switch is actuated, which by way of the electronic control unit turns the remote control switch off and re-latches switch drive with the opened switch lock.

  • Patent number: 5133142
Abstract: A multi-caliber firearm includes a breech, a pull-out claw at least partially disposed within the breech, and an adapter piece which is adjustably attached to the breech and onto which is formed a bearing surface which is located radially opposite the pull-out claw. The pull-out claw is capable of selectively engaging a cartridge case having a cartridge base. The position of the adapter piece is adjustable to enable the breech to accommodate cartridge cases having different cartridge base diameters. The adjustment of the adapter piece may be performed via rotation of an adapter piece formed with a plurality of steps ascending in a circumferential direction of the adapter piece, of via rotating an adapter piece which is screwed into the threaded bore and which moves radially with rotation of the adapter piece.

  • Patent number: 4920676
Abstract: A pistol includes a barrel for holding a cartridge. A breech is movably mounted on a grip piece and movable relative to the barrel. The breech has opposed first and second claws resiliently biased for supporting a cartridge base. An ejector is received by the breech so that in response to movement of the breech relative to the barrel, the second claw slides from the cartridge base and the first claw engages the cartridge base for pivoting the cartridge for ejection from the barrel. An interchangeable barrel release mechanism lowers an end of the barrel in response to rearward movement of the breech relative to the barrel.

  • Patent number: 4612528
Abstract: A single pole or multi-pole, manually or thermally operable overload protective circuit breaker contains in its main switching chamber an elbow lever which consists of an actuating arm and a main contact arm, and functions as active connection between an actuating element and a contact bridge member. The ends of the actuating arm and the main contact arm, which face away from the elbow joint, are articulatedly connected with a pressure button or the like actuating element and the contact bridge member, respectively. In any positions of swivelling from a folded, i.e. the circuit-breaking, to a stretched, i.e., an arrested circuit making position, of the elbow lever, the centers of the swivel joints are located on the central longitudinal axis of the circuit breaker, which axis extends toward the depth of an insulating housing of the latter.

  • Patent number: 4540864
Abstract: An actuating fixture for use with a push-pull switch comprises a push-pull button through which a tightening screw extends axially, and a clamping tongs which can be closed by the screw. In its operational end position, the tongs grips an actuating head of the switch below an annular flange of the head. The push-pull button projects from a collar portion of a protective housing, and the collar portion and a casing of the switch bear external threadings which are both of the same type and diameter. The push-pull button is connected with the end of the protective housing facing toward the switch by means of an encasing hose of water-tight, flexible material. The actuating fixture has an internal threading which can be screwed on to the aforesaid external threading of the switch casing.

  • Patent number: 4407631
Abstract: A motor-pump aggregate whose pump is a glandless centrifugal pump and is intended for use in a nuclear reactor plant has hollow coaxial pump and motor shafts which are sealingly coupled to each other. To this end, the first end portion of the pump shaft extends into the adjacent first end portion of the motor shaft and has an external conical shoulder for engagement with an internal conical seat of the first end portion of the motor shaft. A feather holds the first end portions against rotation relative to one another, and the shoulder is urged against the seat by a pair of threaded connectors one of which is anchored in a disc-shaped member in the region of the second end portion of the motor shaft and the other of which is anchored in the first end portion of the pump shaft. The disc-shaped member and the second end portion of the motor shaft have mating ring gears to ensure accurate and a reproducible centering.

  • Patent number: 4298785
Abstract: An arrangement for automatically tracking systems to the center of weld gaps, weld joints or weld reinforcements, in which one or more electrically scanning probes receive signals reflected by a workpiece surface as long as this surface is substantially parallel to the acting surface of the probe. The signals breakdown spontaneously when the surface clearly deviates from the parallel as in the case with the flanks of gaps, joints or reinforcements. The breakdown of the signal is applied for storing an electrical value corresponding to the instantaneous probe position, the probe position for the left flank when traveling from left to right and for the right flank when traveling from right to left. The center of the gap, of the joint or of the reinforcement is computed from the stored electronic position values in a series-connected electronic device, by means of a computer circuit.

  • Patent number: 4236136
Abstract: An overload circuit breaker has a housing and a tripping device supported in the housing and having a helically wound, current-carrying bimetal strip composed of two face-to-face arranged metal components situated, respectively, at the inside and at the outside of the bimetal strip. The bimetal strip has a tripping portion which executes a tripping motion as the bimetal strip undergoes deformation under the effect of heat generated by an excess current flowing through the bimetal strip. The bimetal strip is formed of two electrically serially connected, oppositely wound bimetal helices each having an outer end constituting the opposite ends of the bimetal strip. The bimetal strip is affixed to the housing at both of its opposite ends. Further, the bimetal helices each have an inner end connected to one another by a coupling part. The coupling part constitutes the tripping portion of the bimetal strip.

  • Patent number: 3996044
Abstract: Waste material is disposed of and its usable constituents recovered by feeding the waste material downwardly through a vertical shaft in which its temperature is progressively raised thereby driving off volatile matter and thermally degrading appropriate portions of the material to provide a gaseous discharge suitable for use as a fuel. Material such as metal and other non-volatilizable substances eventually reach a furnace chamber which has a temperature of at least 1600.degree. C where they are liquified and tapped from the chamber. The heavier metal component is tapped from a point lower than the point at which other liquid residues are tapped to enable the metal to be recycled.
