  • Patent number: 8712689
Abstract: A digitized image of a map is stored in a data memory. At least one point of the image of the map is selected as reference point. Space coordinates of the location which corresponds to the reference point are determined and allocated to the reference point. A supplementary calibration information item which enables the image of the map to be calibrated in space coordinates is determined. A mobile radio telephone has a navigation device which is set up for carrying out the method.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 29, 2006
Date of Patent: April 29, 2014
    Assignee: Intel Mobile Communications GmbH
Inventors: Ian Courtney, Josef Ploetz, Dan Dinescu

  • Patent number: 6005907
Abstract: In a method and an apparatus for producing a tomosynthesis exposure of an examination subject, an X-ray beam is directed at the subject from different directions and a reference object composed of at least two sub-objects is disposed in the X-ray beam together with the subject. X-rays attenuated by the reference object composed of at least two sub-objects and the examination subject are received by a radiation receiver, which generates electrical signals corresponding to X-rays incident thereon, from which a tomosynthesis image is constructed.

    Filed: May 19, 1997
Date of Patent: December 21, 1999
Assignee: Sirona Dental Systems GmbH & Co. KG
    Inventor: Josef Ploetz
  • Patent number: 5896437
Abstract: An X-ray diagnostics apparatus for tomosynthesis has a radiation emitter and a reference object exclusively connected thereto so that the reference object has a fixed reference relationship to the radiation emitter. It is thus possible to determine the spacing of the radiation emitter from the radiation receiver and from the examination subject, the radiation angle and the transirradiation direction on the basis of the signals obtained from the radiation receiver upon transirradiation of the reference subject without having the reference object representing an impediment in the region of the examination subject.

  • Patent number: 5878104
Abstract: In a method for producing a tomosynthesis exposure a reference object is used which is formed by a region of the examination subject. It is thus possible to determine the distance of the beam transmitter to the beam receiver and to the examination subject, the irradiation angle, and the direction of irradiation, on the basis of the signals that can be derived from the beam receiver during the transillumination of the reference object, without the reference object causing any disturbance in the region of the subject of examination.

Assignee: Sirona Dental Systems GmbH & Co. KG

  • Patent number: 5828722
Abstract: An diagnostic apparatus for generating X-ray exposures for tomosynthesis includes a position detector (2, 4) for registering the mutual positional relationship between the radiation transmitter (1) and/or the radiation receiver (3) and/or the object (7) under examination. The position detector (2, 4) can be arranged in part or in whole on the radiation transmitter (1), on the radiation receiver (3) or on the object (7) under examination. An evaluation device (11) evaluates the signals from the position detector (2, 4) and generates correction signals if the relative position between the radiation transmitter (1) and/or the radiation receiver (3) and/or the object (7) under examination deviates from the home position. The correction signals are then fed to an image-generating device (12) for use in the image processing.

  • Patent number: 5666392
Abstract: In an X-ray diagnostic installation having a positioning arrangement for a radiation emitter and for a radiation receiver, a first positioning apparatus is provided for the radiation emitter and a second positioning apparatus is provided for the radiation receiver. The positioning apparatuses have a common reference axis. By a coupling the radiation emitter to the first positioning apparatus, the reference beam of a beam of radiation emitted by the radiation emitter intersects the common reference axis at an acute angle, and strikes the radiation receiver at least approximately centrally.

  • Patent number: 5598454
Abstract: An x-ray diagnostics installation includes a device for positioning a radiation emitter such that the reference ray of an emitted ray beam always and automatically intersects a reference axis that is stationary with reference to said device at an acute angle .alpha. when the radiation emitter is coupled to the device. X-ray exposures for tomosynthesis can thus be produced in a simple way.

  • Patent number: 5579366
Abstract: A line detector camera suitable for employment in a dental x-ray diagnostics apparatus contains an x-ray-sensitive detector held in a housing, the detector containing a plurality of detector elements that are arranged to form one or more lines, and having contacts connected to control lines that are in turn connected to a connector part. The connector part makes both electrical and mechanical connection in a releasable manner to a correspondingly fashioned holder of the x-ray diagnostics apparatus.

  • Patent number: 5514873
Abstract: An x-ray apparatus has a portable radiation detector having a housing containing a radiation transducer formed of individual detector cells that convert incident radiation, particularly x-radiation, into electrical signals. The radiation detector is implemented cable-free. A wireless transceiver for the infeed of operating energy and for the outfeed of the signals is provided. An advantage of this radiation detector is the cable-free construction, and the simple manipulation and reusability resulting therefrom. Moreover, the radiation detector is better suited to hygienic demands.
