  • Patent number: 4844671
Abstract: Described is a coupling device between a workpiece support or a tool support, such as for example a tool system module, for example in the form of a basic tool holding fixture, and a handling device, such as for example a machine tool, especially a spindle. For rapidly producing and releasing the connection between these components while making high axial forces available, a clamping device with an operating rod is provided by which a key mechanism is controlled, with which clamping elements provided in the part to be coupled can be pressed essentially radially outward into a suitably shaped recess on the other part to be coupled.

  • Patent number: 4813831
Abstract: Described is a coupling system for cutting shank tools with which a stationary connection can be produced between coaxial parts of the shank tool in the direction of rotation and in the axial direction. The coupling system includes a holding fixture formed in a first part for a centering extension provided on a second part to be connected, a drive device, and a clamping device which can be actuated externally by an adjusting device and with which both parts can be pressed against each other through a prop ring surface pairing. The clamping device includes a connecting rod that is mounted symmetrically like a pendulum in the first part and that extends into a coaxial recess in the second part and forms a conical section there, through which the connecting rod can be placed under tension by the adjusting device braced on the second part. This generates pure axial tension which can be introduced, through a large, ring-shaped flat brace, without transverse force into the shank parts to be coupled.

  • Patent number: 4784535
Abstract: A cutting tool is described which comprises at least one exchangeable cutting blade mounted on a parallellepiped cutting blade holder which in turn is adapted to be fixed by a setscrew at a tool body. The setscrew passes through the cutting blade holder such that the holder is pressed flat against a first recess surface and, at the same time, in the direction of a second recess surface extending at an angle with respect to the first one, the setscrew penetrating the cutting blade holder with clearance for freely adjustable fastening such that it includes an angle of substantially the same size with both recess surfaces and presses the cutting blade holder against the second recess surface by two adjustable support members of which at least one is designed as a rotatable eccentric pin the axis of which extends substantially parallel to the associated second recess surface and which is supported in a fitting recess of the cutting blade holder or of the tool body.

  • Patent number: 4768901
Abstract: A drill having two or more cutting edges is provided with interchangeable cutting members. The cutting members are fastened by screws in corresponding recesses formed in the drill bit. The cutting members are embodied by interchangeable plates and provided with fastening portions behind the main cutting edge, in the direction of cutting. The screws engage through these fastening portions in threaded bores formed in the front face of the drill bit.

  • Patent number: 4566828
Abstract: A cutting tool is disclosed, particularly a ball track milling cutter, comprising a tool holder in which a turnover cutting disc is received that includes four cutting edges of circular arc segment shape. The cutting disc is received in a slot dividing the tool holder into two clamping jaws and is adapted to be clamped in position by a clamping screw which extends diametrically and passes through the cutting disc in the area of an opening. In addition to the clamping screw a thrust piece is provided to press the cutting disc with two cutting flanks axially against abutment faces at the bottom of the slot.
