  • Patent number: 5086442
Abstract: A magnetic coupling for a device, such as a cathode, which is received in a vacuum bulb of a tube which has shafts for mounting the tube for rotation on an axis, has an inner ferromagnetic part disposed in the vacuum bulb and connected to the device and an outer ferromagnetic part which is arranged outside of the vacuum bulb and aligned with the inner part. The outer part comprises a magnetic arrangement having a plurality of pole pieces to which the poles of a ferromagnetic yoke that forms the inner part are allocated.

  • Patent number: 5046186
Abstract: A rotating x-ray tube has a vacuum housing provided with central shafts at both sides, which are rotatably held in bearings connected to a radiator housing. An anode is rigidly mounted to the vacuum housing, and a cathode arrangement, having an eccentrically disposed cathode, is mounted on one of the shafts. The shaft supporting the cathode arrangement is hollow, and a filament transformer is disposed on the hollow shaft. A further shaft, which is rigidly connected to the cathode arrangement, is conducted through the hollow shaft. The cathode arrangement and/or the interior shaft are rotatably connected to the hollow shaft. The secondary coil of the filament transformer, which is connected to the glow helices of the cathode arrangement, is mounted on the interior shaft.

  • Patent number: 4153842
Abstract: In the illustrated embodiment, each detector is reciprocally mounted for movement from a retracted position clear of the X-ray beam into an operative position. For a fan-shaped X-ray beam which is shifted by activating successive electron sources arranged about a ring anode, successive sets of detectors are activated, always on the opposite side of the patient location from the active focus. As a specific example, successive sets of electromagnets may be activated by an electronic stepping circuit to provide one-degree shifts in the active set of detectors.

  • Patent number: 4000433
Abstract: An X-ray tube having a copper anode utilized in microstructure analysis. The X-ray tube, on the one hand, facilitates obtaining monochromatically employable X-rays, in which, on the other hand, the extent of reduction of the radiation output is only extremely minute, by providing an X-ray tube which has a copper anode wherein the copper located at least at the focal point is alloyed with a percentage of silver.
