Abstract: Apparatus for delivering a sheet to a surface, comprising a rotating gripper that receives and grips the sheet at or near a leading edge thereof at a first position and delivers the leading edge to a second position, the first and second positions being situated along a circular path along which the rotating gripper travels; a surface having a stop at the second position; and a blower adapted to blow air at the sheet as it is held by the rotating gripper and after it is released by the gripper at the second position, the blowing of the air being in a direction that urges the sheet away from the circular path. The sheet is not positively held on the circular path except by the leading edge grippers.

Abstract: Duplex printing apparatus for printing on two sides of a sheet, the apparatus comprising: an impression roller on which the sheet is held during printing; an imager which prints an image on a first side of the sheet while it is being held on the impression roller; and a sheet inverter which removes the sheet from the impression roller, inverts the sheet and returns it to the impression roller for printing on a second side of the sheet by the imager, wherein the sheet is held on said impression roller referenced to a first edge thereof during the printing of the first side thereof and is also held on the impression roller referenced to said first edge during printing of the second side thereof.

Abstract: An electrophotographic copier for selectively printing in one of a number of different colors in which development takes place at a common station around the periphery of a photoconductive drum to which station a distributor system selectively feeds liquid from one of a number of supply containers and from which the liquid is returned to the container from when it came. Our machine flushes the common portion of the liquid circulating system each time a change in color is made. The processing liquid tanks of our machine are provided with an arrangement for inhibiting settling of toner particles in the tanks.

Abstract: An electrophotographic copier in which a manually releasable locking mechanism normally locates the machine drum in an operative position in the machine cabinet in which peripheral edge portions of the drum engage a pair of friction rollers positioned adjacent to the image receiving portion of the drum. Upon release of the locking mechanism and without the use of tools the drum automatically moves to a location at which at least a part thereof is clear of the machine housing at an access opening thereof.
