  • Patent number: 7975472
Abstract: The present invention relates to an exhaust system (1) for an internal combustion engine (3) having at least one exhaust gas line (2) that carries exhaust gas and having an injection device (4) for spraying a liquid into the exhaust gas line (2). Downstream from the injection device (4) a vaporizer device (7) which has at least one tubular sheet metal body (8) downstream from the injection device (4), said sheet metal body extending in the longitudinal direction of the exhaust gas line (2) and causing an improved vaporization of the liquid sprayed into the exhaust gas line. In addition, at least one clamp device (12) which is designed like a spring is provided, securing the vaporizer device (7) in the exhaust gas line (2) and/or bracing it elastically against the exhaust gas line.

  • Patent number: 7603849
Abstract: The present invention relates to an exhaust system for an internal combustion engine, in particular in a motor vehicle, having an exhaust line carrying exhaust gas away from the internal combustion engine and having a fuel injector for injecting fuel into the exhaust line. The fuel injector is mounted on the exhaust line via a mounting device. This mounting device has a receiving body into which the fuel injector is inserted and which is mounted on the exhaust line via a disk-shaped flange. To reduce the risk of overheating of the fuel injector, the flange is mounted on the receiving body via a constriction in cross section and/or on the exhaust line via a thermal insulator.

  • Patent number: 7404290
Abstract: The present invention relates to an exhaust system for an internal combustion engine, having an exhaust line for removing exhaust gas from the internal combustion engine and having a secondary fuel supply for introducing secondary fuel into the exhaust gas of the internal combustion engine. To improve the introduction of the secondary fuel into the exhaust, a recirculation device is connected to the exhaust line and to the secondary fuel supply so that the introduction of secondary fuel into the exhaust is accomplished via or through the recirculation device. The recirculation device has a circulation space which receives an exhaust substream from the exhaust line in which the secondary fuel is introduced into the exhaust substream and from which the modified exhaust substream is returned to the exhaust line.

  • Patent number: 7168241
Abstract: The present invention relates to a device (1) for introducing fuel into an exhaust line (4) of an internal combustion engine, in particular in a motor vehicle, with a fuel injector (2) for injecting fuel under injection pressure into the exhaust line (4) through a radial opening (5) in a pipe section (3) of the exhaust line (4). To improve the efficiency of such a device (1), the fuel injector (2) is connected to a coolant circulation system (7) in a manner suitable to transfer heat.
