  • Patent number: 7260334
Abstract: A method and device controls a printer or copier to generate a plurality of marks that are assembled into a coherent marking band that is then inked by the toner. A sensor measures the marking band. The printer or copier are controlled based on the output of the sensor.

  • Patent number: 6721528
Abstract: A method and apparatus for controlling a lateral position of a band-shaped intermediate image carrier in an electrographic apparatus by regularly detecting a mark on the intermediate image carrier with a sensor. The band-shaped intermediate image carrier is moved in a transport direction from an image generating position at which an image is generated on the image carrier to a transfer position at which the image is transferred. A transverse position of the intermediate image carrier relative to the transport direction is detected and is time correlated with the regular detection of the mark. Intermediate position detections are carried out between the regular detections of the mark in a time-controlled manner. The detected positions are compared to stored position values or calculated theoretical position values and the results of the comparison is used to control position correction devices which change the transverse position of the intermediate image carrier.

  • Patent number: 6246856
Abstract: A printer or copier and method generates toner images for transfer onto a recording medium. A latent charge image is generated on a photoconductor and is developed by the application of toner by at least one developer station to generate the toner image for transfer to the recording medium. A plurality of the developer stations are provided along the photoconductor to develop the images in color using a color separation method. A transfer band collects the color separations on top of one another to generate the overall toner image which is transferred to the recording medium. Multiple modules, each with developer stations, a photoconductor and a transfer band may be provided for one sided or two sided printing.

  • Patent number: 6138564
Abstract: For regulating the pressure in a pressure chamber, in particular in a pneumatic brake apparatus for a web-type recording medium, an actual pressure is set in the pressure chamber dependent on an actual angle of rotation of a rotary valve. The actual angle of rotation of the rotary valve and the actual pressure in the pressure chamber are acquired. A target pressure and a target angle of rotation allocated to this target pressure are predetermined, and a pressure deviation between the actual pressure and the target pressure are determined, as is a deviation of the angle of rotation between the actual angle of rotation and the target angle of rotation. An adjusting unit sets the angle of rotation at the rotary valve, first dependent on the deviation of the angle of rotation and then dependent on the pressure deviation. Furthermore, a sensor for acquiring the angle of rotation is specified.
