  • Patent number: 7048282
Abstract: A sports device (10), preferably a snow or water vehicle, has an outer shell (15) which when inflated, forms a support surface (13) underneath and a lying down or sitting surface (20) on top. An inflatable tubular shell (20) with two segments (21, 22) extending crosswise across it is provided in this outer shell (15). The outer shell (15) is formed of a robust fabric which is coated or laminated with plastic. The tubular shell (20), which is in itself separate from the outer shell, is produced from plastic films, preferably without any fabric reinforcement. The outer shell may also be connected to the tubular shell in such a way that they form a single film. The sports device can therefore be produced with optimal materials for the outer shell or the tubular shell, with the result that it has a long service life.

  • Patent number: 4658772
Abstract: A glow plug electrically heated during start-up to help bring the air-fuel mixture of an internal combustion engine to ignition temperature when the engine is cold, instead of being turned off as soon as the engine is running, has its heating current controlled so as to maintain the glow plug temperature within a desired range, as the result of which the engine can be made to run more quietly and more smoothly under many conditions. The current control unit which varies the glow plug current responds to the output signal of a computing unit responsive to various engine operation parameters, including especially a signal representative of the rate of feeding fuel to the engine.

  • Patent number: 4193384
Abstract: A fuel injection system for continuous fuel injection into the induction manifold of an internal combustion engine. Upstream of the main throttle, there is disposed a baffle plate on a pivoting lever which act as an air flow rate meter and displaces the slide valve of a fuel metering assembly in proportion to the air flow rate. An electromagnetic actuator, attached to the induction tube, has a movable armature on which there is disposed a spring. During engine starting at temperatures below approximately 30 degrees C., the restoring force on the air flow rate meter is so low that the force of the actuator spring is able to displace the pivoting lever and the slide valve in the direction of greater fuel delivery, thereby providing cold starting assistance. In other embodiments, the temperature dependence is increased by using a bimetallic spring on the actuator. In a further embodiment, the actuator is attached to the operating lever.

  • Patent number: 4022165
Abstract: A fuel injection system which is of the type that introduces with a time lag two separate fuel quantities into the same cylinder prior to ignition includes a metering valve assembly to vary one of said quantities supplied by a fuel injection pump and a fuel injection nozzle associated with each engine cylinder and formed of two separate injection valves; one valve is supplied with fuel directly from said fuel injection pump, while the other valve is supplied from said metering valve assembly.

  • Patent number: 3999525
Abstract: In each fuel injection valve forming part of a fuel injection apparatus and associated with an internal combustion engine, there is disposed an electric heater which transmits heat to the fuel by contact-type heat exchange. The heat output of each heater is controlled by a device which processes input signals representing different engine variables.

  • Patent number: 3983850
Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus for supplying fuel for acceleration during the warm-up phase of an internal combustion engine. The fuel supplied downstream of an arbitrarily actuatable throttle butterfly valve located in the induction tube of the engine being in addition to the fuel supplied by a fuel supply system. There is disclosed a motion control means which is associated with the butterfly valve and actuated thereby upon opening of this valve. The motion control means further includes electrical contacts disposed in an electrical circuit, electromagnet means in the circuit and other valve means arranged to be controlled by said electromagnet for feeding fuel into said induction tube downstream of said butterfly valve upon closing of said contacts. There are several variants of the control means; one constituted by a flexible bellows and the other by a dash pot.

  • Patent number: 3974811
Abstract: A fuel injection system for mixture-compressing, externally ignited internal combustion engines of the type employing continuous fuel injection with an induction tube. A measuring member, as well as an arbitrarily actuatable throttle butterfly valve are disposed in sequence within the induction tube. A fuel metering and quantity distribution valve assembly is controlled by the measuring member in proportion to air flow rate. Pressurized fluid, preferably fuel, provides a restoring force for the measuring member, via a control pressure circuit. At least one pressure control valve is provided for controlling the pressure in the control circuit in dependence on motor parameters. A heatable control element, operating in dependence on temperature, forms part of the control valve. The heatable control element, which may be a bimetallic spring, acts in opposition to the force of another spring.
