  • Patent number: 7766688
Abstract: A connector for terminating a communications cable is disclosed including a termination assembly (30) including a plurality of wire receiving contacts (32) for receiving wires (24) of a cable; a lacing fixture (22) with a number of wire receiving spaces (23) and which is used to guide the wires into engagement with the wire receiving contacts (32); and a cutting blade (34) having a cutting portion (35) and a body portion; wherein the termination assembly and lacing fixture are arranged such that, as they are assembled together, wires held in the lacing fixture are pushed past the cutting portion of the blade which cuts off excess wire, the cut wires are pushed beyond the body portion of the blade, and the wires are pushed into engagement with the wire receiving contacts.

  • Patent number: 7637769
Abstract: A cap (10) for a modular telecom connection jack assembly comprises a housing (12) including an aperture (14) to receive a cable (18) therethrough. A pair of jaws (20, 22) is operably associated with the housing (12) and movable relative to each other between an open configuration (Po) and a closed configuration (Pc). The relative positions of the jaws (20, 22) in the closed configuration (Pc) is determined by latch means operably associated with the jaws (20, 22) to limit relative movement of the jaws (20, 22). The cap (10) further comprises biasing means operably associated with the jaws (30, 32) to bias the jaws (20, 22) from the open configuration (Po) towards the closed configuration (Pc). The jaws (20, 22), in use, are movable to the open configuration (Po) to permit insertion of a cable (18) through the aperture (14) in the housing (12) and, on release, are caused to move by the biasing means towards the closed configuration (Pc) to clamp the cable (18) therebetween.

  • Patent number: 6394844
Abstract: A high frequency connector having a main housing having an open mounting side, a cable side and a partition at the cable side defining two compartments where each compartment is in communication with the mounting side and the cable side; a plurality of contacts, where a pair of contacts are positioned in the compartments such that the contacts are exposed from mating with a complementary electrical interface on the mating side and wires of a cable on the cable side; and a rear cover that is fittable to the main housing on the cable side in order to close the open cable side and cover the exposed contacts therein where the cover further includes a second partition configured to mechanically and electrically engage the partition of the main housing where the two partitions are conductive and act as a shield between the two compartments.
