  • Publication number: 20060148545
Abstract: The invention provides a role-playing game environment wherein the nature of various NPCs within the game may be varied over time within the game. The goals of various NPCs within the game may be dynamically and automatically changed within the game. At certain in-game time periods, the game server may dynamically assign one or more new goals for some or all of the NPCs based on the current status of each NPC. When a player later interacts with a given NPC assist (or impede) that NPC in reaching its currently assigned goal, the method may dynamically determine a steps that the player's avatar may perform to assist (or impede) the goal. Thus, players cannot predict what will happen when they move through the game and reach a location at which they can interact with a given NPC, making the game-playing experience ever fresh and challenging.

  • Publication number: 20040264812
Abstract: A rectangular towel that is converted into a gift bag using a removable stitch. Once the stitch is removed, the bag then reverts back to its original function as a towel. The bag acts as a presentation device for a variety of gifts including items such as wine, liquor, and coffee. Once presented the recipient can opt to remove the stitch with a simple act converting the bag into a towel. The towel has a variety of functions, which can include being bar towel, golf or sports towel, kitchen towel etc.

  • Patent number: 6829612
Abstract: A new computerized methods using a database system on a global network to administer film festivals. The methods include the filmmakers inputting film information into the database, which information becomes available to selected film festivals. The system preferably handles multiple submissions to different festivals, processes applications, provides simultaneous judging of a competition, and schedules film play times at the festivals.

  • Patent number: 6803040
Abstract: The present invention is directed to novel tricyclic antidepressant derivatives which are synthesized for the covalent attachment to antigens (proteins or polypeptides) for the preparation of antibodies or receptors to tricyclic antidepressant and tricyclic antidepressant metabolites. The resulting novel antigens may be used for the production of antibodies or receptors using standard methods. Once generated, the antibodies or receptors and the novel derivatives which are covalently attached to proteins, polypeptides or labels may be used in the immunoassay process.

  • Patent number: 6251687
Abstract: The invention describes the particles comprising an energy donor as a first component and a fluorescent dye as a second component positioned in said particles at an energy exchanging distance from one another, wherein the two components have a Stokes shift of greater than or equal to 50 nm, said particle having bound on its surface, a protein, polypeptide, nucleic acid, nucleotide or protein containing ligand analogue are disclosed and claimed. In addition, novel fluorescent dyes are described which exhibit intramolecular energy transfer for use to label various molecules, proteins, polypeptides, nucleotides and nucleic acids or to incorporate into particles.

  • Patent number: 5766329
Abstract: A calcia mold facecoat is applied to a mold for casting parts composed of reactive metals such as titanium and titanium aluminide. The facecoat is composed of a calcium carbonate based slurry comprising a dense grain calcium carbonate powder and an aqueous based binder. It is applied to a wax or plastic pattern used in the lost wax process for fabricating a casting shell. The mold is built using multiple dipping of alumina-silicate slurries, and then fired at high temperatures in an oxygen rich environment. The metal part is cast before the fired mold can cool below about 800.degree. C. Organometallic based slurry binders are avoided and significant cost savings are realized owing to the benign nature of the aqueous based suspensions with respect to the environment.

  • Patent number: 4711334
Abstract: A telescoping extension chute has a first semicircular section with an inlet end for pivotal connection to a main chute on a mixer truck and a pair of tubular tracks attached along upper longitudinal edges. An intermediate section with a semicircular cross-section of larger radius telescopes over the first section and has a pair of tubular tracks attached along upper longitudinal edges which extend through slots formed in the bottom walls of the first section tracks. A third section with a semicircular cross-section of still larger radius telescopes over the intermediate section and has a pair of bars attached along upper longitudinal edges which extend through slots formed in the bottom walls of the intermediate section tracks. Rollers attached to the tracks cooperate to provide relative telescoping movement and a locking mechanism prevents relative movement in any extended position.
