  • Patent number: 6079782
Abstract: A seat construction corrects the pelvis so that it influences a proper alignment of the body. The seat construction has at least four independent seat assemblies which are supported by a base plate. Each seat assembly includes a frame shaped support affixed to the base plate, a rigid support plate affixed to the top of the frame shaped support, and a full foam seat cushion affixed to the top of the support plate. In an alternative embodiment, the seat construction has at least four independent seat assemblies which are supported by a base plate. Each seat assembly includes a frame shaped support affixed to the base plate, a rigid support plate affixed to the top of the frame shaped support, and a full foam seat cushion affixed to the top of the support plate.

  • Patent number: 5288127
Abstract: An improvement to a seat having relatively adjustable sections to improve the rocking means of each separate seat section to move back and forth in a longitudinal rocking, move downwardly and sliding backwardly, to thereby more effectively and efficiently assist in the comfort of the individual. The improvement includes a seat rocking member such as an arch shaped suspension affixed to the lower portion of each seat half and affixed at only one side to the upper surface of the base. The resilience of the arch shaped suspensions permits and limits the seat to move downwardly and slide backwardly, when a force such as the weight of a person pushes downwardly on the seat. The resilience of the arch shaped suspensions further permits and limits the seat to rock back and forth to thereby enable the user to independently rock back and forth in a front to back rocking arrangement on each seat half.

  • Patent number: 5024485
Abstract: An improvement to the seat having relatively adjustable sections disclosed and claimed in U.S. Pat. No. 3,749,442 to restrict the movement of each separate seat section to movement only back and forth in a longitudinal rocking motion as opposed to universal movement, to thereby more effectively and efficiently assist in the comfort of the individual and adjustment of the seat to movements of the user without causing undue fatigue over time. The improvement includes a seat rocking member such as a cylindrical rod affixed to the lower portion of each seat half and a pair of spaced apart resilient receiving members for each seat half to movably and rotatably support a seat half on the base of the seat. The resilience of the receiving members permits the the seat rocking members to vertically move downward within the receiving members when a force such as the weight of a person pushes downward on the seat.

  • Patent number: 4650247
Abstract: A biophysiometer having two seat sections which support the right and left sides respectively of a person's body, and are adapted for relative vertical movement and relative tilting movement to positions displacing the two sides of the body relative to one another in a manner tending to correct an abnormal posture condition or otherwise attain a desired treatment effect. The two seat sections are preferably supported by a balancing connection operatively interconnecting them in a relation in which downward movement of one of the sections causes upward movement of the other section, and vice-a-versa. Desirably, the apparatus includes automatic control means which respond to displacement of the two seat sections relative to one another by the weight or positioning of a person's body, and then automatically actuate the seat sections to changed relative positions tending to correct the posture or other abnormal condition sensed by the device.

  • Patent number: 4047757
Abstract: A seating unit with a flexible seat back having an upper portion separated into two halves positioned to support a user's back at opposite sides of his spine, and with these halves being mounted for resiliently resisted rearward deflection relative to one another in order to accommodate movement of the user's body, and with a slit or the like being provided at the center of the back between these halves to enable projection of the user's spine rearwardly beyond adjacent portions of the user's back for optimum comfort at all times. The back structure may be connected to a generally horizontal seat element, which may be bifurcated to have two relatively movable forwardly projecting portions. The device may also have an anchoring portion for detachable connection to a cushion of an upholstered seat on which the unit is to be used.

  • Patent number: 4021023
Abstract: A film developing tank support plate is provided on a main housing, which support plate is pivotally mounted to agitate the development tank in response to a control unit in the main housing. The control unit has a solenoid whose arm is connected to the support plate and is actuated by a rotating contact abutting stationary contacts on a stationary plate.
