Publication number: 20240159608Abstract: A power transmission gearbox system for a turbomachine is provided. the power transmission gearbox system includes a drivetrain having one or more rotating components. The system further includes at least one static component interfacing with the one or more rotating components. The system further includes a sensor disposed on the at least one static component and configured to provide data indicative of strain in the static component. The system further includes a controller communicatively coupled to the sensor. the controller includes a processor and a memory. the processor is configured to perform a plurality of operations. The plurality of operations includes monitoring the data indicative of strain in the static component from the sensor. The operations further include determining, at least partially based on the data indicative of the strain in the static component, a torque in the one or more rotating components of the drivetrain.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 16, 2022Publication date: May 16, 2024Inventors: Bugra Han Ertas, Leonardo Coviello, Juraj Hrubec, Joseph Alfred Iannotti, Eric Richard Westervelt, Keith F. Publication number: 20170221330Abstract: Embodiments of the invention are directed to a system, method, and computer program product for surveillance of a secure area. The present invention typically includes a memory, a processor, and a module configured to monitor the secure area. In this regard, an embodiment of the present invention may receive an indication that a user is within the secure area and determine, using an authentication device sensor, whether the user has the authentication device to remain within the confines of the secure area. The user may have continued access to the secure area if the authentication device detected. On the other hand, the security personnel associated with the secure area may be notified of an unauthorized user when the authentication device is not detected.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 13, 2017Publication date: August 3, 2017Inventor: Francis Joseph Coviello

Patent number: 9044584Abstract: A connector apparatus for small-bore medical tubing includes a male connector (20) with a dome (22) which fits into a mating cavity (42) of a female connector (40) when the two connectors are coupled together. A fluid channel extends through the connectors, the dome, and into the cavity to form a continuous fluid passageway when the connectors are coupled together. The dome is compressed into the cavity to form a fluid-tight connection when the connectors are coupled together. Each connector has a coupling structure which mates with the other to compress the connectors together when fully engaged. The connectors are engaged by inserting the dome of one of the connectors into the cavity of the other connector, then rotating the connectors to fully couple them together.Type: GrantFiled: December 15, 2009Date of Patent: June 2, 2015Assignee: KONINKLIJKE PHILIPS N.V.Inventors: Charles C. Monroe, Joseph A. Coviello

Patent number: 4056020Abstract: A hand-held fastener tool includes a handle with a first socket in one end and a second socket in a side wall adjacent to the other end of the handle. An aperture of lesser lateral dimension than that of the second socket is formed in the handle and extends transversely therethrough to communicate with the second socket. First and second driver-fasteners are adapted to fit non-rotatably and releasably within the respective first and second sockets to extend therefrom. The tool is thus graspable at either end during the fastening operation and is capable of being rotated or applying leverage to the fastener at the other end.Type: GrantFiled: August 24, 1976Date of Patent: November 1, 1977Inventor: Joseph Coviello
