  • Patent number: 7636049
Abstract: An emergency notification and directional signaling apparatus includes an alarm remotely mountable from and responsive to an emergency event detector and alarm. The remote alarm activates one of a supplementary visual and audible alarm which may include one or more different colored lights, one of which is a pulsed strobe, and an audible sound which may include a recorded voice message. A temperature sensor in the remote alarm housing activates a second notification and signaling event when the ambient temperature surrounding the remote alarm reaches a preset threshold. The remote alarm may be mounted in a portable housing, on a faceplate of an existing wall electrical junction box, or in an electrical duplex body mounted in a junction box.

  • Patent number: 6133839
Abstract: A warning apparatus provides an alarm indication of the location of an exit from an enclosure or room in the event of a detected fire as well as the safety of the exit. An alarm housing is located remote from a smoke detector on or in proximity to a surface of the exit. The smoke detector output is an ultrasonic frequency signal generated upon detection of a fire. The ultrasonic signal is detected by a receiver carried by the alarm which activates the alarm. The alarm is in the form of at least one, and preferably both of a visible light and an audible alarm mounted within the alarm housing. A temperature sensor on the alarm housing detects the temperature of the exit surface and deactivates the alarm if the temperature exceeds the predetermined safe temperature. A test circuit is included in the smoke detector or on a separate transmitter which, when activated, transmits an ultrasonic signal to the receiver to test the proper operation of the alarm.

  • Patent number: 4826163
Abstract: A billiard cue chalk holder having a housing with side walls, opposed end walls and a hollow internal cavity having a cross section configured to stationarily receive a cubical billiard cue chalk block. An aperture is formed in at least one of the end walls and disposed in communication with the cavity in the housing to allow insertion of the tip of a billiard cue stick therethrough into contact with the chalk block housed internally within the housing. Mounting flanges formed on the housing receive fasteners to stationarily mount the housing on a flat surface, such as the side of a billiard table. The length of the cavity is configured to receive one or more cubical billiard cue chalk blocks, all of which are accessible for applying chalk to the tip of a billiard cue stick through the apertures formed in one or both of the end walls of the housing.
