  • Patent number: 11933202
Abstract: Systems and methods to extend a life of a component of a cylinder deactivation system are provided. A method includes generating, by a controller, an initial life factor for the component; initiating, by the controller, a CDA mode for an engine; determining, by the controller, an actual life factor for the component, the actual life factor determined by comparing a number of switching events of a cylinder in the CDA mode to a number of cycles of the cylinder in the CDA mode; comparing, by the controller, the actual life factor to the initial life factor; and modifying, by the controller based on the comparison, operation of the engine in the CDA mode to adjust the actual life factor.

  • Publication number: 20090077565
Abstract: The system and method provides enhanced interactive web-browsing through multiple websites and supporting multiple application formats. An application presents the end-user with the ability to quickly (e.g., by a one-click operation) jump to a desired website no matter which and how many websites are concurrently activated. In addition to enhancing the end-users web-browsing experience, the application provides a platform with the ability to dynamically and contextually present suggestions and advertisements to the end-user.

  • Patent number: 5678452
Abstract: An adaptor for allowing the pulling of a chain using a hand-held power tool. The adaptor has a gearbox housing a speed reduction gear train. An input shaft projects from the back of the gearbox and an output shaft projects from the front of the gearbox. The input shaft is adapted to be coupled to the output shaft of a hand-held power grinder. A sprocket specially designed to engage an ordinary oval link chain, is mounted on the output shaft. A sprocket housing having a movable cover is attached to the front of the gearbox. The sprocket housing has a movable cover which can be moved between an open and a closed position. The cover acts to maintain the chain in engagement with the sprocket when the chain is mounted to the sprocket and the cover is in the closed position, and the cover allows the chain to be removed from or mounted to the sprocket when the cover is in the open position.

  • Patent number: 4016668
Abstract: A firing mechanism for a firearm wherein a firing hammer is actuated by a firing spring and cam arrangement and wherein engagement between a sear and the hammer is arranged to provide a positive lock against misfire but simultaneously to provide a light trigger pull for firing in which, during the firing cycle, the hammer element moves in response to force applied to the sear only a small amount which is insufficient to bring the full force of frictional resistance of the firing spring and cam elements into play. The trigger is adjustable to facilitate attainment of the appropriate spacial relationships.
