The unit includes a fan unit configured to generate the air flow. The air flow is sent through a storage unit that holds one or more cooling mediums. An internal tray is located in the storage unit and is configured to translate vertically in relation to the type and amount of cooling medium. The air flow is selectively directed through the cooling mediums to provide a dual stage cooling process prior to leaving through a flexible exhaust duct. Warm air enters the storage unit and leaves through the exhaust duct which is directed for the best cooling use as determined by the user.

    Abstract: Wave energy converters having a paddle form and facing the seas have been described in papers, previous designs having a sliding mass located low in the hull. Power is taken off by resisting the movement of the sliding mass. In this invention, the sliding mass is located high in the hull, generally above sea level, where it is more effective and so may have a substantially lower mass. In addition, instead of moving in a straight line, means may be provided for the slide to be curved in the vertical plane to improve performance. Further, the guiding means may be a pivoted arm or a linkage, rather than a slide, and the path may be variable to suit the period of the waves.

    Abstract: Test equipment is deployed from a floating vessel or the like, the test equipment comprising testing apparatus for determining geotechnical, geophysical, geochemical, geological characteristics, and soil penetrator which forms an exploratory hole. The testing apparatus also includes at least one sensor or sampler. The test equipment being deployed by coiled tubing or the like, the one end of the coiled tubing being attached to the vessel. The test equipment is of sufficient weight to keep itself and the coiled tubing above it substantially vertical. The test equipment is also kept correctly orientated by a structure resting substantially on the seabed. A heave compensatior, such as one or more winching lines at a constant load tension which are attached to and support the coiled tubing. A casing can be attached to the test equipment and introduced to the exploratory hole by the soil penetrator. Such test equipment can be deployed at two separate locations simultaneously from the same vessel.

    Abstract: A tracheotomy valve including a housing defining a chamber therein. The housing having a first opening located in a first plane at one end of the chamber and a second opening located in a vertical plane at another end of the chamber. The vertical plane and said first plane are angled with respect to one another such that a central axis of the first opening and a central axis of the second opening intersect and are angled with respect to one another. The tracheotomy valve also includes a displaceable element disposed in the chamber and movable therein. The displaceable element effects closing of the first opening when in a first position and moves from the first position during inspiration whereby the displaceable element is spaced apart from the first opening and air flows through the housing.
