  • Publication number: 20170232198
Abstract: An article is described including an article surface, a primer coating of SiOx, SiOxCy or SiNxCy applied to the article surface, and optionally a deposit of lubricant applied to the primer coating or layer. The primer coating of SiOx, SiOxCy or SiNxCy is applied by PECVD of an organosiloxane precursor. A deposit of lubricant is applied to the primer coating or layer. The primer coating improves the adhesion or wetting of the lubricant on the surface to be lubricated, as well as the recovery of the liquid contained in the vessel. Examples of such an article are a prefilled syringe having a barrel with a lubricated interior portion and a plunger tip that slides along it. Another example of such an article is a vial having a lubricated opening to receive a septum. Another aspect of the invention is a method of making such an article.

Abstract: An article is described including an article surface, a primer coating or layer of SiOx, SiOxCy or SiNxCy applied to the article surface, and a deposit of lubricant applied to the primer coating or layer. The primer coating or layer of SiOx, SiOxCy or SiNxCy is applied by chemical vapor deposition of a polysiloxane or polysilazane precursor in the presence of oxygen. A first deposit of lubricant is applied to the primer coating or layer. The primer coating or layer improves the adhesion or wetting of the lubricant on the surface to be lubricated. Examples of such an article are a prefilled syringe having a barrel with a lubricated interior portion and a plunger tip that slides along it. • Publication number: 20160318710
Abstract: A method of forming a subterranean gas storage vessel is provided. A wellbore is drilled through the surface of the ground into the ground, and a casing is inserted into the wellbore, the casing having a size such that a wellbore annulus is formed between the outside surface of the casing and the wall of the wellbore. A cement sheath is then formed in the wellbore annulus, and the interior of the casing is sealed to help prevent gas from inadvertently escaping therefrom. The cemented and sealed casing can then be used as a storage vessel to store and dispense gas such as compressed natural gas (CNG).

  • Publication number: 20160017490
Abstract: A method for coating a substrate surface such as a syringe part by PECVD is provided, the method comprising generating a plasma from a gaseous reactant comprising an organosilicon precursor and optionally an oxidizing gas by providing plasma-forming energy adjacent to the substrate, thus forming a coating on the substrate surface by plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD). The plasma-forming energy is applied in a first phase as a first pulse at a first energy level followed by further treatment in a second phase at a second energy level lower than the first energy level. The lubricity, hydrophobicity and/or barrier properties of the coating are set by setting the ratio of the O2 to the organosilicon precursor in the gaseous reactant, and/or by setting the electric power used for generating the plasma.

  • Publication number: 20150316440
Abstract: An apparatus and methods for testing the integrity of a barrier coating on a vessel. An off gas test fixture includes a face seal positioned about an opening of the vessel. A side seal is positioned about a portion of the vessel's wall and separated from the face seal by a space. Additionally, a cover may be secured to the fixture that encompasses an interface portion of the fixture and the vessel. Before and/or during testing, gas in the space between the side and face seals may be evacuated, as well as gas present in an interior area of the vessel. The vessel may be exposed to test gas(es) that is soluble by the plastic material of the vessel before and/or after being secured to the fixture. During testing, test gas(es) desorbed by the vessel may be evacuated, with the molecular flow being measured using a mass extraction unit.

  • Publication number: 20150209282
Abstract: Liposomal compositions comprising peptide epoxyketone compounds are described, as well as methods of making and using such liposomal compositions. These liposomal compositions enhance the therapeutic window of peptide epoxyketone compounds by improving in vivo half-life relative to non-liposomal compositions comprising peptide epoxyketone compounds, providing desirable pharmacodynamic profiles, and providing anti-tumor activity in a human tumor xenograft model, greater than or equal to non-liposomal compositions comprising peptide epoxyketone compounds.
