  • Publication number: 20090087046
Abstract: New techniques, imaging software, and related imaging systems for visualizing and comparing medical images are disclosed. The apparatus of this invention generally comprises a digital imaging system including a visual display device in combination with software adapted so as to enable two or more digital images to be rapidly alternately superimposed on the same display space and displayed to a viewer (FIG. 7). The digital blink comparator apparatus and methods of this invention may be carried out using or be applied to a wide variety of existing medical imaging interpretation devices including, but not limited to, standard PACS, web-based PACS, cardiac imaging, ophthalmologic imaging, and dental imaging.

  • Publication number: 20080286192
Abstract: A pyrolysis process is provided. The process includes the steps of: depositing a quantity of waste into a porous container, the porous container adapted to allow a convective stream of substantially anaerobic gas to flow therethrough; inserting the porous container into a pyrolysis thermal processor; sealing the thermal processor; circulating the convective stream of gas through the pyrolysis thermal processor; heating the waste according to a first time-temperature profile to pyrolyze the waste and form a carbonaceous char; and cooling the carbonaceous char by circulating the convective stream of gas through a cooler. An oil product and a gaseous hydrocarbon product are produced during the pyrolysis. The carbonaceous char is further processed to form a carbon black product and a recyclable metal product.

  • Patent number: RE29664
Abstract: Hydraulic pulley apparatus including a frame, anchored to a tiedown assembly, supporting a first pulley on a movable axis and a second pulley on a selectably fixed axis. A cable or chain extends over the first and second pulleys and is connected at one end to the frame, with the other end being attached to a workpiece. The pulleys are arranged in such a manner that movement of the first pulley away from the second pulley draws the end of the chain attached to the workpiece toward the second pulley. The movement of the first pulley is accomplished by selectively operable and controllable hydraulic power means. A third pulley may be mounted on the frame at various positions above the first and second pulleys for receiving the end of the chain attached to the workpiece, and maintaining the chain at various attitudes. Locking means hold the chain under tension to permit release of the hydraulic power means for sequential operation thereof.
