  • Publication number: 20160335042
Abstract: Whilst the Musical Instrument Digital Interface (MIDI) revolutionized an industry and brought it into the digital era it also has limitations arising from its definition and establishment whilst the digital era was in its infancy. In the intervening 30 years whilst the MIDI specification has evolved to reflect changes in underlying technology etc. the user experience has remained fairly constant and difficult with each vendor offering different MIDI interfaces for the user to learn and employ. It would be beneficial therefore to address limitations within the existing solutions exploiting MIDI standards allowing users to control MIDI devices simultaneously, save settings for subsequent use, and provide users with a cloud based distribution and access network to MIDI settings as have become popular and well established in many areas of human activity including music.

  • Publication number: 20160201728
Abstract: An example steering shaft for a motor vehicle steering system for use with a power assistance system may include an input shaft, an output shaft, and a torsion bar. The torsion bar may connect the input and output shafts in a torsionally elastic manner for purposes of transmitting a torque, in many cases from the input shaft to the output shaft. In particular, a joining section of the torsion bar may be connected to a joining socket of one or more of the input shaft or the output shaft. The joining section may include partial elevations for forming a nonpositive and positive connection to the joining socket.

  • Publication number: 20140013486
Abstract: A two-sided, reversible storage sun visor, reversible storage cap, and a reversible storage sun hat, each featuring retaining straps on the crown to secure a pair of glasses, when not in use, and an elastic headband or elastic storage panel for versatile fitment. The bill of the reversible sun visor and the reversible hat is constructed from durable materials that retain theft original shape and thus may be folded, crumpled, and washed without any permanent distortion to the bill. The elastic panel may be formed as a pocket for storage that can be securely closed. When the reversible sun storage visor, reversible storage hat, or reversible storage sun hat are reversed, the pocket will remain in an upright orientation.

  • Patent number: 8196772
Abstract: The invention comprises a disposable beverage cup that comprises a ledge between the cup's rim and the grasping portion of the cup that is commonly held in the user's hand. The ledge, which comprises a curb, a horizontal plane, and one or more indentations, acts as a barrier between the user's hand and other objects, preventing a lid that has been press fit onto the cup's rim from being dislodged. In order to remove the lid, the user must insert a finger and/or thumb into the indentation(s) and press upward on the lid. The cup has a contour between the ledge and the grasping portion with ergonomic features to increase the user's comfort in handling the cup.

  • Publication number: 20120016050
Abstract: Urethane acrylate oligomers, suitable for use in coatings and like formulations, prepared by capping polyols having hydroxyl functionality (fOH) equal to or greater than 4, using 2-isocyanatoethyl acrylate or 2-isocyanatoethyl methacrylate, thereby avoiding the gelation that normally occurs in attempting to prepare urethane acrylates with high/OH polyols by reaction with diisocyanates. Reaction of low molecular weight polyols, containing two or three hydroxyl groups, with mono isocyanate(meth)acrylate monomers produces useful, low viscosity urethane (meth)acrylate oligomers. Specifically, capping of a mole of 2,2-dihydroxymethyl butanoic acid by two moles of 2-isocyanatoethyl acrylate molecules leads to the formation of radiation curable water-soluble liquid monomers that are transparent and soluble in water. Oligomers obtained by capping with 2-isocyanatoethyl acrylate demonstrate enhanced adhesion to glass and stainless steel.

  • Publication number: 20080149413
Abstract: A power-assisted steering system is disclosed. A motor is coupled by a motor shaft and a clutch to a worm shaft, which in turn engages a worm wheel. The worm shaft and the worm wheel are mounted in the gearbox housing. The distal end of the worm shaft is mounted in a bearing, and a proximal end of the worm shaft is mounted to the clutch. This construction permits inclusion of a partial housing coupled to the gearbox and enclosing the motor. Both ends of the motor shaft may be mounted in the partial housing motor bearings, and the partial housing may be displaceable with respect to the gearbox housing. Further, the motor may be locationally adjustable with the partial housing in a radial direction defined by an axis of rotation of the motor shaft.

  • Patent number: 6889859
Abstract: The invention disclosed herein generally concerns a lid for disposable or reusable beverage containers which facilitates access to the contents for addition of condiment and which enhances the users sensory perception of the state of such contents, without removal of the lid. The lid of the invention combines various sensory elements to simultaneously enhance the user's sensory responses of taste, smell, touch and sight during drinking with the beverage cup lid in place. The sensory elements comprise openings, transparent materials, shape and media, through which liquid and vapor can pass, and through which heat can, conduct or convect. In addition to the elements already described, the beverage cup lid of the invention comprises a physical element that allows the addition and stirring of condiments while the lid is fully installed on the cup. The invention disclosed herein integrates multiple elements of a press and lock on a beverage cup lid.
