  • Publication number: 20230344446
Abstract: In various embodiments a computer-implemented method for managing use of a shared compression dictionary in a distributed database environment. The method includes determining that a given version of the shared compression dictionary should be designated as a current primary version of the shared compression dictionary. The method also includes receiving, from a client device, first write data compressed with a previous primary version of the shared compression dictionary and in response to receiving the first write data, transmitting, to the client device, the current primary version of the shared compression dictionary and an instruction to compress new write data with the current primary version of the shared compression dictionary. Additionally, the method includes receiving, from the client device, a second write data compressed with the current primary version of the shared compression dictionary and storing the second write data in a database.

  • Publication number: 20230215417
Abstract: This disclosure describes a system that analyzes a corpus of text (e.g., a financial article, an audio book, etc.) so that the context surrounding the text is fully understood. For instance, the context may be an environment described by the text, or an environment in which the text occurs. Based on the analysis, the system can determine sentiment, part of speech, entities, and/or human characters at the token level of the text, and automatically generate Speech Synthesis Markup Language (SSML) tags based on this information. The SSML tags can be used by applications, services, and/or features that implement text-to-speech (TTS) conversion to improve the audio experience for end-users. Consequently, via the techniques described herein, more realistic and human-like speech synthesis can be efficiently implemented at larger scale (e.g., for audio books, for all the articles published to a news site, etc.).

  • Patent number: 11636005
Abstract: Various embodiments of the invention disclosed herein provide techniques for performing distributed anti-entropy repair procedures across a plurality of nodes in a distributed database network. A node included in a plurality of nodes within the distributed database network determines, before all other nodes included in the plurality of nodes, that a first anti-entropy repair procedure has ended. The node determines that a second anti-entropy repair procedure is ready to begin. The node generates a schedule for executing one or more operations associated with the second anti-entropy repair procedure. The node writes the schedule to a shared repair schedule data structure to initiate the second anti-entropy repair procedure across multiple nodes included in the plurality of nodes. Each of the nodes included in the plurality of nodes then performs a node repair based on the schedule.

  • Publication number: 20220257306
Abstract: An electrosurgical device comprising: an electrode having a first portion whose exterior is electrically uninsulated, a second portion whose exterior is electrically insulated, and a third portion; an elongated hollow body having an internal cavity, a front end, a rear end, an external surface, and an electrical wire arranged within the body. The hollow body is configured to reversibly receive the third portion of the electrode at the front end of the body such that electrical contact is made between the electrode and the electrical wire and the second portion of the electrode is not surrounded by the hollow body. A first button is provided for controlling a current flow at a first level to the electrode and is arranged on the external surface. A vacuum tube is slidably engaged by the body and has an inlet generally facing the front end and adjacent the electrode.
