  • Patent number: 5410214
Abstract: The electric lamp has a lamp vessel (1) having seals (4, 5) onto which respective bases (20, 21) are secured. Each base comprises a cylindrical insulator body (22) in a free end of which a contact member (30) is accommodated, having a contact face (31) and a protruding portion (33) which has a connection area (32) to which a current supply conductor (8) of the lamp is secured. The contact member (30) is a body made from metal foil.

  • Patent number: 4785219
Abstract: A cathode ray tube display device which has an arrangement for mounting a deflection unit on the conical portion of a cathode ray tube envelope. In order to permit a rapid mounting of the deflection unit in a manner which provides shock resistance, and resistance temperature fluctuations in the deflection unit and the envelope, three V-shaped, sheet metal connecting devices connect the deflection unit to the conical portion of the envelope. The free ends of the devices are attached to the deflection unit in such a manner that the vertices of the devices are substantially tangential to the surface of the conical portion. After adjustment of the deflection unit the vertices of the devices are secured to the conical portion in such a manner that the connections are loaded with a shearing force.

  • Patent number: 4782209
Abstract: A method of interconnecting a first element 1 and a second element 4 by means of laser welding, the first element 1 consisting at least partly of glass or ceramics and the second element 4 consisting at least partly of metal, the bond between both elements being formed by the glass or ceramic part of the first element 1 and the metal part of the second element 4, characterized in that a metal auxiliary element 3 is bonded to the glass or ceramic part of the first element 1 by means of a solid-state bond 2, after which, substantially without heating, the metal part of the second element 4 is welded to the metal auxiliary element 3 by means of a laser beam 5.
