  • Patent number: 11810245
Abstract: An illustrative server system receives a request from a client device to join a virtual world managed by the server system. In response to receiving the request, the server system identifies an avatar location for an avatar that is to represent a user of the client device within the virtual world when the client device joins the virtual world. Based on the avatar location, the server system determines a first priority value for a first asset of the virtual world and a second priority value for a second asset of the virtual world. Based on the first and second priority values, the server system provides to the client device a prioritized replication of the virtual world in which the first asset is replicated in a prioritized manner that allows the user to experience the first asset before the second asset is replicated. Corresponding methods and systems are also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20220070502
Abstract: An illustrative interactive content provider system transmits a live video stream to an interactive content player device, and, during the transmitting of the live video stream, provides an executable data object to the interactive content player device. The executable data object includes an interactive content instance configured to be presented within a 3D virtual playing area that bounds at least one virtual object of the interactive content instance. The interactive content provider system directs the interactive content player device to execute the executable data object by overlaying the 3D virtual playing area of the interactive content instance onto a presentation of the live video stream. Corresponding methods and systems are disclosed for both the interactive content provider system and the interactive content player device.

  • Patent number: 11184647
Abstract: An illustrative interactive content delivery system includes an interactive content player device (player device) and an interactive content provider system (provider system). As the provider system transmits a live video stream to the player device, the player device detects a first event marker in the live video stream, accesses an executable data object including data representative of an interactive content instance, and executes, based on the executable data object, the interactive content instance in accordance with interactive input provided by a user of the player device. During the executing of the interactive content instance, the player device detects a second event marker in the live video stream and subsequently discontinues the executing of the interactive content instance. Corresponding methods and systems are disclosed for both the provider system and the player device of the interactive content delivery system.

  • Publication number: 20050011437
Abstract: An apparatus for creating a random image is disclosed. The apparatus has a first support member with a hanging applicator member movably connected thereto. The hanging applicator is provided with at least one reservoir of material to be applied to a substrate. The reservoir has a delivery means extending from the reservoir for transporting the material to a brush means. The brush means provides a random pattern of material to a substrate in response to pressure from flowing air.

  • Patent number: 5071122
Abstract: Batting training apparatus for improving the batting performance of a baseball batter, the apparatus having a plurality of baseball-simulating targets placed within a simulated strike zone and mounted for rotation about a vertical axis in response to being struck by a baseball bat, a plurality of illuminating lamps associated one with each one of the targets, a selector for illuminating a selected one of the plurality of targets to simulate a particular pitch, a timer for measuring the time between illumination of the selected lamp and the commencement of movement of the target in response to being struck by the baseball bat to indicate the reaction time of the batter, and a counter for counting the number of revolutions of the target about the vertical axis to indicate the quality of the strike upon the target by the baseball bat.

  • Patent number: 4678891
Abstract: The frequency of a quartz crystal resonator (10) having a known radius (R) initially is adjusted upward toward a nominal resonant frequency in a "rough adjust" phase in which one or more lasered holes (24) are formed in a central portion of an outer electrode (12). The resonator ( 10) then is adjusted to the nominal resonant frequency in a "fine adjust" phase which initially involves utilizing a known coordinate position (70) and a laser (40) to determine coordinates (74 and 78) of two edge portions of the outer electrode (12). The edge portion coordinates (74 and 78) and the known electrode radius (R) then are used to determine coordinates (84) along an arc defined by a peripheral edge (28) of the outer electrode (12) in 5.degree. increments (85). Lasered holes (26) then are formed in the electrode edge (28) to adjust the resonator (10) to the nominal resonant frequency. Additional lasered holes (30) also may be formed in the electrode (12) along an arc of reduced radius for this purpose, if necessary.

  • Patent number: 4404556
Abstract: A n-bit parallel output port of a programmable controller (22) is coupled to a bit expansion circuit (24). A plurality of channel-select bits are decoded by a multiplexer board (26) to select and enable any one of sixteen output channels. A plurality of line-select bits are fed to a memory section (28) to facilitate the selection of any one of a plurality of output lines associated with the enabled channel. The selected output line remains latched in their most recent output state when the selected channel is disabled by the controller (22).

  • Patent number: 4311464
Abstract: An apparatus is provided for use in optimally arranging covering units, such as tiles or the like, or for enabling the precutting of such covering units before such units are applied to the floor or wall or ceiling to be covered. A first prescaled grid is provided on a substantially opaque sheet of paper on which the dimensions of the surface to be covered may be laid out. The exact dimensions of the floor, wall or ceiling to be covered may be laid out to scale on the first substantially opaque sheet. A second grid or line arrangement corresponding to the dimensions of the covering unit is provided on a substantially transparent sheet. This second grid is scaled to correspond to the scaling of the first grid on the substantially opaque sheet.
