  • Publication number: 20240077777
Abstract: A laser protection variable transmission optical device (“LP-VTOD”) includes first and second cells, each capable of changing from a state of higher light transmittance to a state of lower light transmittance. The first cell is characterized by a narrow band absorption having a first peak absorption wavelength and a first FWHM of 175 nm or less, and the second cell is characterized by a narrow band absorption having a second peak absorption wavelength and a second FWHM of 175 nm or less. The first peak absorption wavelength may be the same or different than the second peak absorption wavelength. The LP-VTOD is capable of switching from a clear state to a darkened state having a darkened state transmittance % TDS-P that is equal to or less than 10% for at least one of the first or second peak absorption wavelengths.

  • Publication number: 20080300967
Abstract: A method and system for requesting and delivering mobile marketing interactions, controlling access and tracking usage for wireless device applications directly from a wireless device is disclosed. Upon starting an application on a wireless device, the application connects to a server and posts information about the application, the user of the application, device specific data and any cached marketing interactions. This information is processed by the server. Application usage statistics, marketing interactions and any device changes are stored in a database at the server. Real-time processing and business rule checks on the information sent from the wireless device application is performed by the server to determine content access rights by the user as well as current marketing interactions that will be displayed within the application.

  • Patent number: 7328208
Abstract: A method and system for improving text searching is disclosed. The method and system provides a network of document relationship and utilizes the network of document relationships to identify the region of documents that can be used to satisfy a user's request. In a preferred embodiment, the text searching method in accordance with the present invention augments a conventional text search by using information on document relationships and metadata. The text searching method and system improves upon conventional text search techniques by incorporating relationship metadata to define regions to search within. In the present invention the definition of a region is not limited to just categories as it includes neighborhoods around individual documents and sets which have been user defined.

  • Patent number: 5854730
Abstract: A voltage surge suppression system for the protection of electronic equipment from damage from voltage surges and voltage transients has at least one metal oxide varistor electrically connected to a primary power source; a transformer; at least one second metal oxide varistor electronically connected between said transmission interceptor and a power circuit board; and a circuit opener electronically connected between the a transformer and power circuit board; wherein the a transformer is connected between the primary power source and second metal oxide varistor. The circuit opener is a resettable breaker for protecting the transformer from surges greater than the rated value of the second metal oxide varistor by opening in order to close off current flow.
