    Abstract: The present invention relates to an intermediate web comprising of high glass transition polymer fibers. The fibers are spun at low to moderate speeds and have a relative crystallinity of from 10% to 75% of the maximum achievable crystallinity. The intermediate web is a low crystallinity web that exhibits shrinkage of more than 30% and elongation to break of more than 80% at high strain rates. This web can be heat treated to reduce shrinkage to less than 15% while the web is capable of at least about 60% elongation at a strain rate of at least about 50 second−1.

The dispersible absorbent product can absorb a sufficient amount of fluid without becoming overloaded and suffering from leakage, and is dispersible using a standard toilet. The mechanically weakened regions of the web enhance the dispersibility of the product. Additionally, the dispersible absorbent products may be pre-moistened with a composition. The pre-moistened products are stable in storage, easily dispersible down a toilet, and deliver cleaning, conditioning, and like benefits. Methods of making such dispersible absorbent products are also disclosed.

A particular use of such a fiber is for removal of the second component in the presence of a solvent in order to produce fibers with desired properties. An agent may be present in the second component for controlling the rate of removal of the second component thereby allowing for physical manipulation of the fiber prior to complete removal of the component.     Abstract: An automated engagement system for coupling the plunger of a syringe to a drive arm is provided. A pressure integrity test of the syringe assembly is automatically conducted after engagement. After a position sensor communicates a signal indicating the presence of a properly installed syringe assembly to a processor, a display prompts the operator to vent and then close a stopcock in the fluid line. The processor then controls the drive arm of the system to move into engagement with the plunger of the syringe assembly, and to move the plunger forward into the syringe barrel. The drive arm stops when a pressure sensor produces a signal indicating a positive pressure in the fluid line. The processor then controls the drive arm to move the plunger in a reverse direction until a negative pressure is detected. After this confirmation of pressure integrity in the syringe assembly, the processor controls the drive to move forward until a non-negative pressure is detected by the pressure sensor.
