    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to curable silicone elastomer compositions having enhanced adhesive properties with respect to a wide variety of substrates (hereafter referred to as “curable silicone elastomer compositions”). Elastomers made by curing the curable silicone elastomer compositions may be adhered to a wide variety of substrates to form composites comprising the elastomers and the substrates. Processes for adhering the elastomers made by curing the curable silicone elastomer compositions to the substrates are also provided. An adhesion promoter, component (D), is provided to enhance adhesion. Component (D) is a polyorganosiloxane having (i) at least one unsaturated group per molecule selected from alkenyl groups and alkynyl groups and (ii) an anhydride functionality and an aromatic functionality, wherein a carbon of the aromatic functionality is separated from a carbon of a carbonyl group of the anhydride by a carbon chain of from 1 to 3 non-aromatic carbon atoms inclusive.

    Abstract: Surgical instruments for interfacing with implants can include an inserter configured to dock to a unilateral portion of an implant. The inserter can include a control shaft that is configured to lock or unlock the inserter coupling with the implant. Actuation of the control shaft can occur by way of a knob that can control movement of the control shaft. The inserter can facilitate positioning of the implant relative to a surgical site and allow for application of counter-torque when imparting torque for tightening a set screw, etc. Additional instruments can also be used to manipulate the implant. For example, auxiliary instruments can be coupled to the inserter, such as a reducer instrument, to facilitate rod reduction, etc. Alternatively or in addition, a holder instrument can be used that has a threaded distal engagement feature for coupling to the implant to facilitate positioning thereof.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus for applying a foamed mixture of paints on a structural surface. A continuous stream of high velocity gas moves through a nozzle and is directed toward the structural surface, and two or more paints may be intermittently moved into the gas stream of the nozzle and aerated and mixed with each other and moved with the gas stream to form a foam that is applied to the structural surface. The components of the foamed mixture may include single component or plural component materials such as polyurethane foam, adhesive, and polyurea formulations, and may be moved through a volumetric metering device consisting of material heaters, a heated hose, and an applicator gun. The nitrogen gas stream fluidizes the mixture as it passes through and out of the nozzle and forms the mixture into a foam that is applied to the structural surface.
