  • Publication number: 20130136832
Abstract: This invention discloses a method of preservation of a food product comprising the step of adding 1) a first component comprising between 10 ppm and 1% of a biocidal salt of N?—(C1-C22) alkanoyl di-basic amino acid alkyl (C1-C22) ester cationic biocidal molecule with an anionic counterion, and 2) a second component comprising from 10 ppm to 1% by weight an acyl monoglyceride, directly to a food product. The preferred cationic biocidal molecule comprises N?-lauroyl-L-arginine ethyl ester (“LAE”). The invention also discloses the method of preservation of a food product using salts of a N?—(C1-C22) alkanoyl di-basic amino acid alkyl (C1-C22) ester cationic biocidal molecule and an anionic counterion with or without a monoglyceride of a fatty acid, whereby the packaging film is compounded with the salts and the optional monoglyceride of a fatty acid.

  • Patent number: 8193244
Abstract: The combination of N?-long chain alkanoyl di basic amino acid alkyl ester salts with glycerol monofatty acid esters results in biocidal synergy and the extension of cidal activity of the di basic amino acid derivative for a variety of antimicrobial applications like oral care, wound care, dermatological care, animal care, and cosmetic applications. N?-C8-C14-long chain alkanoyl-L-arginine alkyl (C1-C4 short chain) ester salts with glycerol monofatty acid esters (C8-C14) are very effective as antimicrobial agents for hospital use particularly as a coating for surgical drapes, covers, walls, trays, table tops, gurneys, or the like. Other uses include the treatment of HSV-1 (fever sore) and as a microbicide when using the combination of the di basic amino acid ester derivative with glycerol monofatty acid esters for preventing HIV and STD's.

  • Patent number: 7522629
Abstract: A method and apparatus for transmitting signaling messages over the communication channel to a CDMA mobile station. If a one-half, one-quarter, or one-eighth frame voice packet is to be transmitted, augmenting that packet with signaling information to form, essentially, a full rate frame; if no more than N consecutive full rate frames are detected, deferring transmission of the signaling message, and thereafter, if another full frame voice frame is detected, substituting a frame of signaling information for the full frame voice frame. Advantageously, using this arrangement, most short signaling messages can be transmitted to a CDMA mobile station with minimal voice impairment.

  • Patent number: 6798381
Abstract: A system and method for measurement domain data association in a passive coherent location system is disclosed. According to the system and method, detection reports are received and associated with line tracks. The detection reports correlate to target signals received at the passive coherent location system. Measurements of the detection report correlate to the data of the target signals. A line track state estimation function associates new detection reports with the line tracks and estimates update states for the line tracks. A signal type is determined. Kalman filters are selected for the measurements according to the signal type. Measurement residuals are computed for the detection reports according to the Kalman filters. The detection reports are selected for association with the line tracks according to the residuals. The line tracks can be merged or terminated during updates according to specific criteria. Further, new line tracks are initialized as new targets are detected.

  • Patent number: 6763571
Abstract: In a folded armature assembly the vibratory end portion of the armature is prelocatable both translationally and rotationally relative to the facing pole surfaces of the permanent magnetic flux means before attachment of the supported portion of the armature to said means. The armature has wings extending laterally from the supported portion to form therewith a connecting bridge portion, and the wings are formed to provide pads extending normal to the bridge. A magnet strap with attached magnets fits slidably between the pads, with a clearance from the bridge of the armature, to permit said locations before the parts are permanently attached. After attachment and with the magnets magnetized, the armature may be adjusted substantially in translation to magnetic center between the pole faces by appropriate plastic deformation of the bridge. In a preferred embodiment, an improved structure is provided for viscoelastic damping of the undesirable second natural resonant mode of the folded armature.

  • Patent number: 6727789
Abstract: The armature of an electromagnetic transducer, extending through the polarizing flux between opposing permanent magnet pole faces, is snubbed to limit its shock-induced excursions normal to the directions of its extent and of the flux field. Such snubbing helps to protect the armature from plastic damage and accompanying shift of magnetic balance of the transducer upon the occurrence of a strong mechanical shock in an arbitrary direction.

  • Patent number: 6603972
Abstract: An apparatus, method and system are provided for a hand-off of a communication session in a wireless data network system, in which the communication session has been established previously with a mobile unit through a first base station, a first serving routing node and a gateway routing node utilizing a first addressing context. The preferred method embodiment includes, when a second base station has been selected for hand-off, first establishing a second addressing context, for the mobile unit, between the gateway routing node and a second serving routing node. The gateway routing node then concurrently routes incoming data packets for the mobile unit to the first serving routing node utilizing the first addressing context and to the second serving routing node utilizing the second addressing context.

  • Patent number: 6539004
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for transmitting packets from a source of such packets to one or more radio station sites so that the radio station sites can transmit the packets at the correct real time. Each radio site has an independent source of exact time based on the reception of signals derived from satellite inputs. Using the real time calculated by a base station, the base station calculates an offset between the time of arrival of a signal with a specified time marker, and the time that a signal with that specified time marker should have arrived in order to be transmitted in a timely fashion. The offset is sent back to the source of packets, and used by the source of packets to advance, or retard, the transmission of future packets. Advantageously, packets can be transmitted from each base station at the correct time, and if packets are being transmitted for a given call from several base stations, can be transmitted simultaneously, by these base stations.

  • Patent number: 6529505
Abstract: A system for expanding a parameter encoding field in a new communications protocol that is compatible with an old protocol. An unused command parameter in an old protocol is used to indicate an expanded parameter encoding field in a new protocol. Parameter encodings from the old protocol are unchanged in the new protocol. A system communicating using the old protocol recognizes all parameters from the old protocol and ignores parameters from the new protocol. A system communicating using the new protocol recognizes parameters from both the old and new protocols.
