  • Patent number: 9845574
Abstract: A paper web and a method of marking a paper web. The paper web includes a surface having a plurality of sections. At least one section of the plurality of sections has a plurality of positions. The plurality of positions each have an equal length and are obtained by subdividing the at least one section. The paper web also includes ink applied to the surface of the paper web at some of the plurality of positions. The method includes applying a first mark and a second mark to a paper web. The first mark has a start position and is coded to convey an identifier for the paper web. The second mark includes a start position and is coded to indicate a position on the paper web. The start position of the second mark is a predetermined distance after the start position of the first mark.

  • Patent number: 9771686
Abstract: A method of producing a paper product. A paper web is formed on a paper machine. The paper web has a plurality of sections. The web is analyzed to perform at least one of inspecting and identifying properties. The web is marked with a plurality of marks. At least one mark is marked at each of the plurality of sections. Thereafter, the web is wound with a winder to form a parent roll. A paper rating is assigned to each section based upon properties in that section that are identified. The web is unwound from the parent roll on a converting line having a plurality of operational parameters. At least one of the plurality of marks is read with a mark reading unit. The paper rating associated with the at least one mark is obtained. At least one operational parameter of the converting line is changed based upon the rating.

  • Patent number: 9518362
Abstract: A system for producing a paper product. The system includes a paper machine, an analysis tool, and a converting line. The paper machine forms a paper web having a plurality of sections, inspects the paper web to identify properties, and marks the paper web with a plurality of marks, at least one mark being assigned to each of the plurality of sections. The analysis tool assigns a paper rating to each section of the paper web based upon the identified properties in that section of the paper web. The converting line has a plurality of operational parameters and converts the paper web into the paper product. The converting line reads at least one of the plurality of marks on the paper web, obtains the paper rating associated with the mark read, and changes at least one operational parameter of the converting line based upon the paper rating.

  • Publication number: 20150292162
Abstract: A converting line for producing a paper product. The converting line includes a paper web being unwound from a parent roll. The paper web has a plurality of sections with at least one mark, associated with an action score, assigned to each of the plurality of sections. The converting line also includes a mark reading unit, which reads one of the plurality of marks on the paper web. • Patent number: 8970302
Abstract: An operational amplifier includes a selective differential stage including a first current mirror and a current distribution circuit. First and second legs of the first current mirror are responsive to current in first and second paths of the current distribution circuit, which distributes a tail current in response to a first signal received by a first input of the operational amplifier. Current in a first path of a selection circuit in the second path of the current distribution circuit is responsive to a second signal received by a second input of the operational amplifier. Current in the second path of the selection circuit is responsive to a third signal received by a third input of the operational amplifier. An output stage generates an output signal responsive to a difference between the first signal and one of the second and third signals.

  • Publication number: 20130332330
Abstract: Techniques and systems for settling over-the-counter financial instruments includes sampling over a periodic interval are disclosed. A volume weighted average price of the sampled process may be calculated and forward points may be applied to the volume weighted average priced to determine an associated spot exchange rate. Such a synthetic spot FX exchange rate may be published to subscribers. Over-the-counter financial derivatives may establish delivery obligations according to the spot exchange rate. In the event where a number of transactions during the sampling period is less than a threshold, a midpoint of bids and asks associated with orders for the exchange traded financial derivative may be used to determine an average of the midpoint, to which the forward points may be applied to determine the spot exchange rate. Alternatively, the time-weighted average of the bid and ask orders during a periodic interval may be used in computing the volume-weighted average price.

  • Patent number: 7952341
Abstract: Apparatus and methods of controlling operating states of multi-stable electronic circuits are disclosed. In one aspect, an apparatus includes a bandgap reference circuit having an operating state and a latched off state. The bandgap reference circuit includes an amplifier to provide a bandgap reference voltage when the bandgap reference circuit is in the operating state. A state control circuit is also included and is coupled to sense an output signal of the bandgap reference circuit. The state control circuit is also coupled to provide a drive signal to an input of the amplifier in response to the sensed output signal. The drive signal is coupled to cause the bandgap reference circuit to avoid the latched off state.
