  • Patent number: 5829908
Abstract: An improved joint assembly between first and second structural components, one of which is a primary support component, comprises a non-circular opening through the first member and a notched mounting member which is introduced through the non-circular opening and rotated 90.degree. to a locking position relative to the primary support component. The mounting member includes at least one mounting leg extending perpendicular to the primary support component and having leg edges parallel to one another and spaced apart a first distance, an outer end spaced from the primary support component a second distance at least equal to the first distance and a mounting opening through the mounting member adjacent the outer end for the attachment of the other structural member to the primary support component.

  • Patent number: 4382710
Abstract: A joint assembly between structural members having plate portions includes an eliptical opening through the plate portion of a first member and a notched locking plate portion on a second member. The latter plate portion is introduced through the eliptical opening parallel to the major dimension thereof and is then rotated 90.degree. to a locking position parallel to the minor dimension of the opening, whereby the notches interengage with the first plate portion to restrain separation of the two structural members. Resilient spring clips are mounted on the first plate portion outwardly adjacent the eliptical opening in the direction of the minor dimension thereof to releaseably engage the second plate portion against rotation when the latter is moved to the locking position. In another embodiment, a composite beam is assembled from a plurality of structural members having plate portions provided with eliptical openings therethrough.

  • Patent number: 3989399
Abstract: A structural joint assembly is provided between perpendicular beam members. One of the members includes a U-shaped channel having longitudinal ribs projecting inwardly from the sidewalls thereof, and the other member includes a plate extension on one end thereof projecting into the channel of the first member transverse to the axis thereof. The side edges of the plate are notched to receive the ribs of the first member, and the sidewalls and/or bottom wall of the channel are provided with opposed resilient tabs engaging opposite sides of the plate. The ribs and notches interengage the two members against separation, and the tabs position the second member longitudinally with respect to the first member.
