  • Publication number: 20240249147
Abstract: A system for Positive and Unlabeled (PU) learning is tailored specifically for a deep learning framework. The system incorporates an adaptive asymmetric loss function based on Modified Logistic Regression paired with a simple linear transform of an output. When only positive and unlabeled images are available for training, the system results in an inductive classifier where no estimate of the class prior is required.

  • Publication number: 20240184591
Abstract: A host system includes a device driver with application-specific settings for a hosted application. Input data is generated by one or more tablet devices at a client computer system. A host-side data transfer application receives the input data and forwards it to the host-side driver, which sends the input data to the hosted application. The tablet data sent to the hosted application is configured according to application-specific settings of the host-side driver, which may support multiple application programming interfaces. A dedicated driver-to-driver connection may also be used to transmit data between client-side and host-side drivers. In another aspect, a host sends an identifier of a hosted application currently in use to a client-side driver, which uses that identifier to look up and apply application-specific settings to tablet data sent to the hosted application. This can eliminate the need for a host-side driver while still allowing application-specific settings for hosted applications.

  • Patent number: 10333820
Abstract: Systems and methods are described for identifying, tracking, and customizing dependencies between components of a computing environment. By providing greater insight and transparency into dependencies, the systems and methods can facilitate modeling the underlying architecture of applications and computer hardware. As a result, IT personnel can better track relationships between components. Custom filtering tools can also provide IT personnel with tools to switch from different types of dependency views that focus on application-oriented views, hardware-oriented views, or other custom views. Model annotation tools can also enable IT personnel to customize a dependency model to reflect real-world application and hardware monitoring conditions.

  • Publication number: 20180121557
Abstract: A system and method of maintaining community safety standards within an Internet community. A balance is achieved between open communication and costly supervision of an immersive online community by use of automated algorithms, human supervision and peer monitoring. An automated filtering process is used in conjunction with an evaluation and penalty process. The filter is enhanced over time. A peer-to-peer control and peer-to-administrator reporting scheme complete the system and methods to synergistically maintain safety and set standards within the community.

  • Patent number: 9830439
Abstract: Techniques for securing a computing device are provided. An example method detecting contact with a touchscreen of the computing device, monitoring the contact with the touchscreen to determine whether the contact matches a predetermined pattern of movement, and performing one or more predetermined actions responsive to the contact with the touchscreen matching the predetermined pattern. The predetermined pattern includes a plurality of predetermined movements separated by pivot points. The pivot points represent a transition point in the predetermined pattern from a first type of movement to a second type of movement. The contact with the touchscreen can be broken at one or more of at least one pivot point, between a first instance of the first type of movement and a second instance of the first type of movement, or between a first instance of the second type of movement and a second instance of the second type of movement.

  • Publication number: 20170199912
Abstract: Embodiments relate to a computing device that creates and displays a behavior footprint grid. The computing device may comprise: an interface to receive user log data from another computing device and a processor coupled to the interface. The processor may be configured to: summarize user behavior associated with the user log data received from the another computing device; create a behavior footprint grid based upon the summary of user behavior; and display the behavior footprint grid on a display device.

  • Patent number: 7931302
Abstract: A mud flap mounting assembly for vehicles providing an elongate laterally extending central support beam defining a medial channel slidably carrying similar elongate mud flap extensions extendible from each opposing end to positions laterally outward of the vehicles' rear tires. The central support beam is secured to a ball mount receiving box beam extending rearwardly from the vehicle by two medial spacedly adjacent depending fastening arms carrying two vertically spaced fasteners extending therethrough above and below the receiving box beam. A mud flap mounting arm carrying a depending mud flap is fastened to the laterally outer end portion of each mud flap extension. A collar carried at the inner end portion of each mud flap mounting arm and having a releasable fastener positionally secures and maintains the mud flap extension and mud flap mounting arm to the central support beam.

  • Patent number: 6874387
Abstract: A quick release bicycle pedal mounting structure including a solid interchange plug connector connected to a crank and a female threaded manual connect coupling connected to a bicycle pedal. The quick release operates by manually pulling the spring (12) activated slide sleeve (9) on the connect coupling (3) perpendicular to the crank arm, which releases the ball bearings (11) into recesses within the connect coupling (3). Thereby allowing pedal (4) with attached connect coupling (3) to be easily detached from the plug connector (2), which is threaded into the crank arm (1).
