  • Patent number: 7131621
Abstract: This tree stand assembly uses adjustable features for mounting a Christmas tree, other plants, bushes or a flag or similar banner pole in a vertical alignment. A pot is nailed securely to the bottom of the tree trunk. The tree is inserted into a cover, which fits over a wide bowl. The cover has a central hole with sloping inward sides to accept and guide the tree with attached pot. The tree with pot is placed into the bowl, which captures the lower rim of a pot. This bowl acts as a water reservoir. It has a convex spherical bottom that mates with and contacts a lower base member, which has a slightly smaller radius concave upper surface. One slides the bowl on the base to make the tree stand vertically. The pot holds the tree and transfers side loads into the cover, which in turn transfers these forces to the bowl. The bowl resists these forces by contact with the spherical surface of the base, which in turn transmits these loads unto the floor surface.

  • Patent number: 6010108
Abstract: An adjustable stand assembly for mounting a Christmas tree or other plant in the vertical orientation. There is a reservoir member having a spherically-curved, convex lower bearing surface which rests in engagement with a corresponding spherically-curved, concave upper bearing surface on a stationary base member. The trunk of the tree is mounted to the reservoir member and extends through a top opening into the interior thereof. The angle at which the tree extends can be adjusted to vertical by sliding the spherically-curved bearing surface of the reservoir over the spherically-curved bearing surface of the base member. The assembly may also include a separate pot member which is mountable to the trunk of the tree and which rests in the reservoir opening so as to transfer vertical and side loads into the reservoir member and the base member.

  • Patent number: 4471013
Abstract: A corrugated core strip for use in the formation of honeycomb core panels is formed by a punch forming operation which simultaneously forms flanges at the edges of the core strip. The punching operation causes the flanges to be gathered at the troughs of the corrugations. The gathering is accommodated by forming grooves in the flanges which extend toward the flange on the opposite edge of the strip. The use of thicker core strip materials is facilitated, and the configuration both simplifies the manufacture of honeycomb core panels and improves the characteristics of the panels.

  • Patent number: 4176973
Abstract: A tape marking attachment for a stenotype machine. The marking attachment has a mounting base to be fixed tothe machine frame and at least one marking pad resiliently mounted on the base, as by a hinged spring arm, for depressing into marking engagement with the machine tape to mark selected portions of the tape for subsequent reference. The described marking attachment has a pair of independently depressable marking pads disposed for marking engagement with opposite edges of the machine tape.
