Abstract: The absorbent article of the invention has a liquid impervious backsheet and a liquid pervious topsheet joined to the backsheet. The topsheet has an inner surface oriented toward the interior of the absorbent article and an outer surface oriented toward the skin and hair of the wearer when the absorbent article is being worn and an absorbent core positioned between the topsheet and the backsheet. At least a portion of the topsheet outer surface comprises an effective amount of a lotion coating which is semi-solid or solid at 20 degrees C.

Abstract: A catamenial device, the device having a topsheet having a body facing surface, wherein the topsheet has a level of hydrophobicity. A lotion composition is applied to at least a portion of at least to the body facing surface of the topsheet, the lotion composition having a level of hydrophobicity equal or greater than that of said topsheet. A backsheet is joined to the topsheet and an absorbent core is disposed between the topsheet and said backsheet.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an absorbent article having a stable skin care composition disposed on its skin-contacting surface. The skin care composition is readily transferable to the skin via normal contact, wearer motion, and/or body heat. Importantly, the skin care composition contains at least one skin care ingredient imparting visible skin benefits to the skin upon transfer to the skin and at least one rheological agent for stabilizing the composition such that agglomeration, stratification and/or settling of the composition are minimized. The present invention also relates to a process for making the absorbent articles having a stable skin care composition disposed thereon.

Abstract: A treated substrate with improved availability of a beneficial component for transfer to a target surface and methods for making the same are described. The substrate has a contacting surface with a beneficial component that is transferred from the contacting surface to a target surface during use of the article. The beneficial component is applied to the article in such a way as to “Top-Bias” the component on or near the contacting surface of the article.

Abstract: The present invention relates to skin care compositions comprising a skin conditioning agent and a topical carrier for the skin conditioning agent. The skin conditioning agent comprises certain nonocclusive liquid polyol carboxylic acid esters, wherein the liquid polyester has a complete melting point of less than about 30° C., and certain solid polyol carboxylic acid ester thickeners for the liquid polyester, wherein the solid polyester has a complete melting point of greater than about 30° C. These compositions provide excellent skin conditioning benefits.

Abstract: A skin care composition in the form of an oil-in-water dispersion which comprises from about 1% to about 60% oil phase components including from about 0.01% to about 20% by weight of a liquid, polyol carboxylic acid ester having a polyol moiety and at least 4 carboxylic acid moieties, wherein the polyol moiety is selected from the group consisting of sugars and sugar alcohols containing from about 4 to about 8 hydroxyl groups, and wherein each carboxylic acid moiety has from about 8 to about 22 carbon atoms, and wherein said liquid polyol carboxylic acid ester has a complete melting point of less than about 30.degree. C., from about 30% to about 98.89% by weight of water, and from about 0.1% to about 20% of an organic amphiphilic emulsifier material which is capable of forming liquid crystals in product or on the skin. The composition provides improved moisturization, skin feel and skin care benefits and reduced greasiness, together with excellent rub-in, absorption and stability characteristics.
