In response to the identification of the first attribute package, the transaction may be opened, and a payment attribute package for the transaction may be set to the first attribute package. The process includes moving to a rough location, performing focus pans to determine the best focus and searching for a known object to register coordinate locations, processing those locations to determine the repeatability and accuracy of the motion system. Further, a means of evaluating these parameters is disclosed by which an automated cytology instrument will validate or invalidate data taken since the last position integrity check.

An illuminated vibratory disc is recessed into the working surface of the board with the top surface of the disc being flush with the working surface of the board thereby allowing a photographic print having a larger surface area than that of the disc to be processed thereon.
